Lots of stories
Revisado: 05-29-24
It takes too long to describe all the stories to support conclusions that at the end become confusing. I finished the book, but cannot express what is the key take away.

Historia
In this revolutionary book, renowned physician Gabor Maté eloquently dissects how in Western countries that pride themselves on their healthcare systems, chronic illness and general ill health are on the rise. Nearly 70 percent of Americans are on at least one prescription drug; more than half take two. In Canada, every fifth person has high blood pressure. In Europe, hypertension is diagnosed in more than 30 percent of the population. And everywhere, adolescent mental illness is on the rise. So what is really “normal” when it comes to health?

For generations, everything has been getting faster, better, and cheaper. Finally, we reached the point that almost anything you could ever want could be sent to your home within days - even hours - of when you decided you wanted it. America made that happen, but now America has lost interest in keeping it going.

Historia
Few ancient works have been as influential as the Meditations of Marcus Aurelius. Filled with wisdom, practical guidance and profound understanding of human behaviour, it remains one of the greatest works of spiritual and ethical reflection ever written. Marcus' insights and advice - on everything from living in the world to coping with adversity and interacting with others - have made the Meditations required listening for statesmen and philosophers alike, while generations of ordinary listeners have responded to the straightforward intimacy of his style.

Details become principles
Revisado: 05-24-22
Good ideias but a lot of details that may not apply to every company. I believe principles should be big concepts, but instead the author presents a large to do list. A good list of ideas, but again too large and detailed.

Revisado: 03-09-22
I am surprised it took me so long to get to this masterpiece. I have recently read many new business books with interesting theories and thoughts. I am glad in Good to Great I could find the real source of those findings with huge research support. I agree that the ideas and concepts exposed in this book are not time-related and I still can see its applicability to our current tech dominated world.
