Book was great, editing terrible

I really liked the story. The voice actor was great. The editing of this audiobook was distracting. It happened often, normal reading then a sentence sounds like it’s been read from another room. I also found myself having to rewind and start listening again because there was no change in tone to distinguish whose perspective the story was being told by. One minute it’s the children, then next sentence we are listening from the Chief’s.
I really like this author and would’ve stopped listening to the audiobook and read the book but I was driving and it’s all I had to listen to.

Disappointed

I had listened to the first two audiobooks and was looking forward to the third. Half way through and I was contemplating not finishing it. It honestly was going no where. It was the last quarter when something interesting actually happened.

All the feels

I don’t write reviews often. I started this book not knowing anything about it. Also I don’t write reviews often. I’ve read some of Kingsolver’s books and loved them. This one is no different. I laughed out loud more times then I can count. Some parts resonated with me. When it ended I wanted just two more chapters. Like life; there is sadness, resilience, and a dash of happiness. Well done.

I never give 5 stars. Wil Wheaton was awesome. Story was awesome. I’ve read and listened to a lot of books, this one did not disappoint.

After reading the description I was on the fence about this one. Glad I choose to get it. I laughed out loud so many times listening to this. I almost cried a bunch of times. This one is a gem.

Story was predictable

Without giving any spoilers for those who do want to listen to the book; I found the story was predictable, it was easy to determine what was happening. As a parent I found the children written as babies, I have a seven year old, she does not talk like a baby. This may be the narrators doing. I found the narrator to be unexpressive.

I tried to finish this book. I had 4 and a half hours left. The main character is so un relatable, un likeable that I couldn't keep listening.

I laughed I cried

I downloaded this book for a 14 hour drive. I spent the whole time smiling and laughing and a couple of times I did shed a tear. A very real and honest book about Amy Schumer. Recommend it to everyone.
