Historia
Many believe that the War on Poverty, launched by President Johnson in 1964, ended in failure. In 2010, the official poverty rate was 15 percent, almost as high as when the War on Poverty was declared. Historical and contemporary accounts often portray the War on Poverty as a costly experiment that created doubts about the ability of public policies to address complex social problems. Legacies of the War on Poverty, drawing from fifty years of empirical evidence, documents that this popular view is too negative.

The narrator drones
Revisado: 06-24-19
He almost sounds like a computer reading the material. And the pace is such that it doesn't really convey meaning. This is really good information, but if the narrator could have been more lively and read the material like an engaged person, it would have very much helped.

Historia
Understanding a political theory becomes easier for students when they are learning the concepts presented here, in this book. Social and political philosophies become easier for the students where the mainstream academic political philosophies take the lead in normative issues, across different nations. Universal content is occasional, whereas MPP, or the mainstream political philosophy, is just mainly parochial. To understand non-western societies, one can hardly bring in references to local problems.

Revisado: 05-22-17
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Well, it would require intense concentration to listen to and fully understand due to the narrator's accent.
Would you be willing to try another one of Andrea Giordani’s performances?
no.
