Cox's book remains an important work, displaying the divergence and fight between history and historical memory, as well as how historical memory is used as indoctrination.

This book is a great starting place for anyone wanting to write a business plan for the first time. I'm an entrepreneur who did not study business or finance in school, so I use books like this one often to catch up on the info I missed. Most of the business audiobooks I've come across are less than stellar: they either misrepresent what they can do or who they're for, or they dump too much information without clarifying. This book doesn't do that. It keeps the purpose of the business plan and its section clear from the very beginning, and even provides cheap and free resources at the end for people like me who need all the help we can get.

The narration was clear and even -- exactly what was needed in a book like this. I'm definitely going to listen to this one again.

I'm sure that this is a very helpful document when printed out, but the medium of audiobook was the wrong format. It's like having someone read you a bunch of flowcharts and worksheets. There's no point to trying to make sense of it unless you're sitting at a desk and writing every word down, and even then it would be more helpful to read it than listen.

If you're interested in this title, I'd look for a different format. Then, if you like the book, maybe get the audio version too, so it can help you study the information.

The narrator was fine -- clear, unobtrusive -- the negative aspects of this review don't reflect on him at all.

I was really amazed at how helpful this book was. I listen to a lot of nonfiction books about business, and most of them are unhelpful (and self-indulgent) for 90% of the book or more. This book completely turned that ratio around. Not only will I listen again, but I just bought the book on Kindle to get more out of the lists and other useful info. Really well done.

The narration was lovely- just the right levels of clear and upbeat to keep me interested. I listened to the whole thing in one sitting.

I received this audiobook at no cost from the Audiobook Blast in exchange for an unbiased review.

Bernhardt was a unique individual. She was both a product of her time and an author of change. Anyone listening to this book should keep in mind the different world she lived in, and how such a world necessarily affected a different worldview. Her comments on actors' bodies seem uncharacteristic and overly dismissive next to her profound insights into artistry and artists. I enjoyed this book, though I had a very hard time separating the author from the subject matter.

Hendrix's narration fitted said author excellently. She did well with portraying Bernhardt's experiences and attitudes without coming off as overtly apologetic. I recommend this audiobook to anyone interested in the changing experiences of artists, particularly female artists, in the history of theater, and the development of a modern world stage.

I listen to and read a lot of nonfiction books in order to learn new skills and hone the ones I have. I'm used to self-help books being about 20% fact and 80% opinion. However, Make It Stick turned that trend on its head. It uses tons of studies, and bases the arguments and recommendations on those instead of cherry-picking facts to suit an opinion. I really appreciated the empirical evidence; it makes it a lot easier to trust the conclusion. I'm planning on assigning this book to my students every semester from here on out.

I read a lot of mysteries, and I'm pretty good at telling where something is going, but this book seriously kept me guessing. The characters are strong, and Redmond's narration was clear and easy to listen to. I'm used to narrators trying to make the characters' voices sound different, so I was surprised to notice that Redmond didn't really do that. In this case, though, it didn't take away from the overall experience. It really sounded like Erin Solomon just telling her story.

This book also developed a great set-up for the next in the series. I really enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to hearing the next one.

First I want to say that I did enjoy this book. It was good brain candy for a few hours. It really seems like an episode of a longer series - there's not a lot of character development, soul searching, or big life events in the story. The heroine gets involved in a mystery that's none of her business, a situation that has its own charm, I suppose, but doesn't really have a lot of payoff in plot or humor.

The narration was mostly good. The narrator has a pleasant, rich voice that's easy to listen to. I only rated it a 3 because some of the character voices were hard to distinguish from one another, so I got confused several times when I couldn't tell who was saying what during a conversation between characters.

In a dystopian future, everyone logs in to the computer network through technologically integrated glasses. The catch is that you need both eyes for the signal to work, and Ted Lomax lost an eye years ago while fighting on California's side of the border war against a collapsed United States. Now he works as a private detective, making his handicap an asset. There are lots of people who don't want the attention that computer use would attract from the corporate government, so Lomax advertises his services with the slogan "strictly analog." But his life changes when his daughter is accused of murdering her Secret Police boyfriend. In order to clear her name, Lomax has to make a circuitous journey that takes him past every comfort zone in both reality and cyberspace.

Steven Jay Cohen's narration is flat and dry, which fits the noir tone of the book perfectly. I enjoyed listening to this book; I got through it in just a few days while commuting, and even found myself wanting to listen to it when I was home, a rare occurrence for me. If you enjoy noir-style mysteries and well-developed dystopian worlds, this book is for you.
