A unique alternate history that I enjoyed very much. Some interesting philosophical questions about AI and living along side sentient machines that are always worth thinking about as we advance robotics. Overall great book. I would listen to it again.

Not what I expected and the bad language is really not a good mix with a book that's trying to gain any kind of respect. Not able to finish it.

Historia
Fumio Sasaki is not an enlightened minimalism expert or organizing guru like Marie Kondo - he's just a regular guy who was stressed out and constantly comparing himself to others, until one day he decided to change his life by saying goodbye to everything he didn't absolutely need. The effects were remarkable: Sasaki gained true freedom, new focus, and a real sense of gratitude for everything around him.

Not a new concept everyone is talking about it but a nice perspective from someone who has made that shift in thinking, Some nice takeaways for someone who is personally making an attempt to downsize. Thanks so much for writing this!

Greener is so detail oriented that you think you are going to be lost or bored and then he pulls the right thread to tighten it and you get in close and you can't stop listening. Now that is skill!

Historia
Preston Sprinkle jumps into a compelling, passionate study of God’s perspective on violence. Examining both the seemingly angry, violent God of the Old Testament and the peacemaking Jesus of the New, Preston takes us back to Scripture to discern how God has really called His people to think and live in the midst of a violent world. He asks us to join him in inviting God to challenge our presuppositions, to set aside our biases and backgrounds and fears.

Even though I thought I knew what it meant to be a pacifist, I appreciate the Biblical perspective presented in this book. It was simple, to the point and not so convoluted that one could not identify or understand. Thanks so much for a great book!

Historia
Does nature really make us feel better? The 3-Day Effect takes a look at the science behind why being in the wild can make us happier, healthier, and more creative. Whether it’s rafting down Utah’s Green River, hiking in Utah’s wilderness, or walking through Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC, scientists are finding that the more exposure humans have to nature, the more we can benefit from reduced anxiety, enhanced creativity, and overall well-being.

Revisado: 09-14-19
I loved this and it only confirmed what I already believed. As a writer I always struggle to write in the winter and am much more inspired when I have been gardening and spending so much time in nature. This totally explains why! I appreciated that different kinds of trauma were explored to give it credibility. Fantastic listen. Time well spent.

Ensign Andrew Dahl has just been assigned to the Universal Union Capital Ship Intrepid, flagship of the Universal Union since the year 2456. Life couldn’t be better…until Andrew begins to pick up on the facts that (1) every Away Mission involves some kind of lethal confrontation with alien forces; (2) the ship’s captain, its chief science officer, and the handsome Lieutenant Kerensky always survive these confrontations; and (3) at least one low-ranked crew member is, sadly, always killed.

not my favourite Scalzi book
Revisado: 04-19-19
I did get through it but just barely. He has written much better things. Some parts just dragged and I understand why he had to put them in but they were like warped bit of wood trying to patch a leaky roof or a pretty thin plot in this case. Would never buy a paper copy of this book.

Historia
When she was suddenly given the opportunity of a new life in rural Jutland, journalist and archetypal Londoner Helen Russell discovered a startling statistic: the happiest place on earth isn't Disneyland but Denmark, a land often thought of by foreigners as consisting entirely of long, dark winters, cured herring, Lego and pastries. What is the secret to their success? Are happy Danes born or made?

I learned a lot!
Revisado: 03-14-19
I assumed this was going to be a lesson in Hygge and it turned out to be a real eye opener about the whole of Danish society and what it actually feels like to live Danishly. A pleasant and surprisingly witty accounting of the author's adventures month by month and the lessons learned. I loved the conversational style, it felt like Helen was telling me the stories over coffee and pastry. Fabulous read.
