A renowned womaniser, ruthless boss and heartless family man, it seems no one is particularly sorry to see Hunter dead.

Fantastic second book in the series!
Revisado: 02-03-23
After returning from a trip to Tuscany, a friend suggested that I read or listen to the novels of T A Williams. It just so happened that the library had the first novel in this series on audiobook. After listening to it and loving it, I pre-ordered the second audiobook “Murder in Chianti”.
And I’m so glad that I did. Simon Mattacks is a fabulous voice actor, allowing for the flavors of Italy, especially the Tuscan region, to shine through his narration. And he manages the Australian accents and Italian accents with apparent ease while still maintaining distinct voices for each character.
Well plotted, the mystery hums along at a quick pace, while continuing to build the character development of Dan and the supporting cast. Oscar the black Labrador Retriever is a wonderful pet Watson. Walks allow Dan the opportunity to search for clues, meet the potential witnesses and suspects, and ponder. The entire story resolves in a satisfyingly interesting way without feeling convoluted or forced.
Really hoping there is a third novel in the series in future.

Historia
Hilketa is a frenetic and violent pastime where players attack each other with swords and hammers. The main goal of the game: obtain your opponent's head and carry it through the goalposts. With flesh and bone bodies, a sport like this would be impossible. But all the players are "threeps", robot-like bodies controlled by people with Haden's Syndrome, so anything goes. No one gets hurt, but the brutality is real, and the crowds love it. Until a star athlete drops dead on the playing field.

Wheaton is Scalzi’s Chris Shane
Revisado: 09-25-18
I am a huge fan of John Scalzi’s work, so I was a little concerned that Wil Wheaton wasn’t going to be at all like I imagined the character of Chris Shane to sound. I was wrong to doubt. My husband and I listened to Mr. Wheaton’s reading of both of John Scalzi’s books in this series, Lock In and Head On, and felt as though there could never have been a different Shane. Mr. Wheaton was fantastic! And now that we have finished listening with rapt attention to both books, we are sharing them with our kids. Thank you for several hours of entertainment and enjoyment.
