Historia
In 1988, Sloan Hadfield's brother Ridge went fishing with their father and never came home. Their father was arrested and charged with murder. Ridge's body was never recovered, and Sloan's mother slowly descended into madness, insisting her son was still alive. Now, twenty years later, Sloan's life is unraveling. In the middle of a bitter divorce, she's forced to return to her rural Texas hometown when her mother is discharged from a mental health facility. Overwhelmed by memories and unanswered questions, Sloan returns to the last place her brother was seen all those years ago.

Is there a new reformation happening in the church? It depends on who you ask. The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) is a popular and fast-growing new movement of Christians who emphasize signs and wonders, and teach that God is giving new revelation through new apostles and prophets. But is this biblical Christianity? In Counterfeit Kingdom, apologists and NAR experts Holly Pivec and Douglas Geivett show how the NAR’s key tenets distort the gospel, twist the Scriptures, are influenced by New Age practices, and lead faithful Christians to shipwreck their faith.

Historia
Behind a smokescreen of “preparing students for the new industrial economy,” early progressives had political control in mind. America’s original schools didn’t just make kids memorize facts or learn skills; they taught them to think freely and arrive at wisdom. They assigned the classics, inspired love of God and country, and raised future citizens that changed the world forever.

10 stars!! Eye opening!

I recently started looking into a CCE school for my children. I was impressed by the school but still on the fence. This book opened my eyes to exactly what CCE is & how it's vastly different from government schools & even traditional Christian schools. I wish I had known about CCE years ago. I couldn't stop listening & will probably be coming back to it. So much information! Praying our children will get to attend a CCE school in the near future!

Very Helpful
Revisado: 10-04-21
I've been needing & searching for a book like this. I tried another & ended up returning it because it had no helpful advice for my situation. I was leary about buying this one because it had few reviews but I'm so glad I did. It provided advice that I plan to use with myself & my toxic inlaws. I would give it 5 stars had it had more info on dealing with toxic grandparents.

Historia
Germany, 1945. The soldiers who liberated the Gross-Rosen concentration camp said the war was over, but nothing feels over to 18-year-old Zofia Lederman. Everyone else—her parents, her grandmother, radiant Aunt Maja—they went left.

On a summer night in 1932, 12-year-old Joel Fitchett wanders into an East Texas diner badly beaten and carrying his unconscious brother, Clancy. When they find themselves at the center of a murder investigation, they make a decision that will change everything: a second lie, a second pact...
