OK, if you can accept the premise
Revisado: 05-08-19
I don't think that I was the target audience for this book. I read it mainly as I got a promotional code for the book without being required to write a review in return.
Perhaps it's a convention in Cozy Mystery novels but I found that I just couldn't suspend belief that everyone (including suspects) so easily accepted the protagonist taking the lead in an investigation and interrogating them on no basis other than she was the sister of the detective investigating a murder.
I also found it hard to imagine that a homicide detective would be so free in revealing what they knew and what other suspects had said to everyone they spoke to.
That said, it was an entertaining, if light read and it doesn't require too big an investment of time.

This summary contains the essential teachings and important critiques from the original copy. "If you watched the entire election cycle and concluded that Trump was nothing but a lucky clown, you missed one of the most important perceptual shifts in the history of humankind. I'll fix that for you in this book." Adams was one of the earliest public figures to predict Trump’s win. The mainstream media regarded Trump as a novelty and a sideshow. But Adams recognized in Trump a level of persuasion you only see once in a generation.

Revisado: 05-08-19
I haven't read/listened to the complete version of Win Bigly but this seemed like a very good summary and now I want to read the full book, so I've added win Bigly to my wish list.
The book makes a lot of persuasive arguments, I'm interested in reading the arguments and the evidence presented in more detail

Interesting story let down by the writing style
Revisado: 04-15-19
I think there was an interesting story here and the narration was OK.
The problem for me was that the story is told in a very strange style with what sounds like a fairly formal writing style, which might distance a reader a bit from the story but, more importantly, where there were so many sentences which really didn't work for me that it constantly took me out of the story.
Here's a small excerpt from the story as an example of this:
"Staying alarmed to what the startling man may do and now within 5 feet of the aged-looking individual, visibility started to increase. She was able to detect a strange detail.
The man's eyes were closed, yet able to follow the path she was pursuing to vacate the room. His head turned as she moved throughout the tight capacity. Not once though did his eyes open. And as she continued to monitor, his hand also did not flee the top of the dresser.
He sustained his exact stance throughout. Unsure of who this man was, how he entered the securely locked apartment or his reason for being there, she knew now was a competent time to make her final maneuver and get the heck out."
I received a free credit to download this story where a review would be appreciated, but not required, and I don't think that this affected my review at all.

Historia
It was Christmas Eve 1968. And the astronauts of Apollo 8 - Commander Frank Borman, Jim Lovell, and Bill Anders - were participants in a mission that took them faster (24,000 mph) and farther from the Earth (240,000 miles) than any human had ever traveled. Apollo 8 was the mission that broke humanity's absolute bond to the Earth: it was the first manned vehicle to leave the Earth's orbit. Confined within a tiny spaceship, the astronauts were aided in their journey by a computer less powerful than one of today's handheld calculators.

Interesting history of a key time in Space Race
Revisado: 04-11-19
A very interesting history of the Apollo era of the Race for Space, focusing on the crew of the Apollo 8 and their families, but including a some details on some people in the post Apollo space program.
There was a good mix of detail on the crew and the Apollo program itself with background details of the social and historical context of the time which would be especially useful for anyone who didn't live through them.
There is a good effort to provide the human angle to the story and to personalize the story of the crew of Apollo 8 and their families, but there are occasional anecdotes which are fairly banal and could have been edited out.
Grover Gardner was the ideal choice to narrate this book. He is able to reproduce the tone of a 1960's TV anchorman perfectly, which really helps situate you in the period of the book. Excellent job!
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

A sequel to a series, The Witches of Galdorheim
Revisado: 04-08-19
I haven't read the series this story follows, I may have enjoyed it more if I had and was already invested in the world and in some of the characters from previous stories.
The story was well paced with good prose. However I couldn't buy the logic of the antagonists plan. As a way to achieve their goals and also given the relationships the antagonist had with the other characters in the story it just made no sense to me, either logically or emotionally. As a shorter work, I'd guess it's a novelette, there seemed to be some unnecessary repetition of details and re-summation of plot points which should still be fresh in the readers mind.
The narration was good overall though let down by the handling of some foreign accents.
Overall though it was an engaging short read. If you read and enjoyed The Witches of Galdorheim series then I'm sure you'll enjoy this story.

Cleaning starships is unglamorous work, even for a teenager. Sadie doesn't just hate her job, she hates pretty much everything about her life. When her sleazy boss leaves her on the closing shift alone so he can go party, she thinks it's the beginning of another in a long line of forgettable nights. Then she meets her final client of the evening, and finds that her otherwise boring job is about to become a fight for survival.

High stakes, high tension, contract cleaners!
Revisado: 03-19-19
This was a very well paced short story which built tension very well throughout.
Sadie is certainly thrown in at the deep end when she accepts a late night cleaning job on an alien spaceship. Sadie might hate her life and her dead-end cleaning job, but she's never had greater reason to. Sadie and her predicament are very easy to identify with and you're kept engaged and rooting for her through her ordeal.
Trigger warning, not for those who can't deal with body horror, and there's a fairly high ick factor from the get go, but it certainly keeps you on the edge of your seat.
