Hard to get through

Imagine sitting next to a pompous individual at a bar who is obviously intoxicated. They go on and on about anything and everything like it's the most important information you'll ever hear. This book feels like that. So little story, but so many words just to move an inch forward. I love the series, but this book was painful to listen to.

Awful beginning, but ended up enjoying it

The first 2 chapters are total garbage. It will leave you looking around hoping no one can hear the Middle school level writing and possibly have you requesting your credit back. After chapter 2 it gets better and the story greatly improves. The author continues to try for humor and falls well short, but the story is fast pace and keeps you interested.

Loved Expeditionary Force, this....not my favorite. There is way too much filler about absolutely nothing that helps the story progress.

I wanted to like this series

First of all, I'm pretty sure this series was narrated by the Futurama voice actor who does Zapp Brannigan. It is a little much at times and hurts the story. Next, book 1 takes a long time to get going. Book 2 was great and number 3 was a major flop. It seemed to me that the author needed a pay day or something because he killed the story. Immediate and random ending with no warning leaving you with mixed feelings. Lastly, they had this character setup to have 8 wives (didn't happen). They kept talking about prophecies that never happened except for.....actually no.... nothing happened that book 1 or 2 was building up to. I wasn't a fan.

I felt like the author was being rushed to throw something together. All the female characters reacted the same way to sharing the main character and what started out as an interesting story just went downhill.
