Historia
Ambrose wakes up on the Coordinated Endeavor with no memory of a launch. There’s more that doesn’t add up: evidence indicates strangers have been on board, the ship’s operating system is voiced by his mother, and his handsome, brooding shipmate has barricaded himself away. But nothing will stop Ambrose from making his mission succeed—not when he’s rescuing his own sister.

The 1st half was good. 2nd half? Adult Twilight.
Revisado: 08-14-18
I enjoyed the story until it turned into adult Twilight. The lovey dovey "I can't live without my vampire" storyline paralleled Stephanie Meyer's vampire romance. Almost every nuance in her series was repeated in this book. The author is a great historian though, and included many historical references I've never heard before. I greatly enjoyed that, as well as the first quarter of the book. Beyond that, I struggled to find the will to finish the book.

Historia
The Zombie War came unthinkably close to eradicating humanity. Max Brooks, driven by the urgency of preserving the acid-etched first-hand experiences of the survivors from those apocalyptic years, traveled across the United States of America and throughout the world, from decimated cities that once teemed with upwards of 30 million souls, to the most remote and inhospitable areas of the planet.

Wan't my favorite
Revisado: 01-02-15
What would have made World War Z better?
I thought the stories were almost like a text book cut out. I understand the idea of the book, but it didn't work for me. I didn't connect with any of the characters of story, and was often bored or wanted to skip over information being read to me.
I think part of it was this book was really hyped up to me and has such good reviews. I'm a big fan of like the walking dead comic and show, and other apocalyptic dramas that focus on the people and what it means to really survive. This book is more of an analysis of steps taken to fight back the zombies as a whole, like military tactics, weapons and politics.
What do you think your next listen will be?
I am going to try The end is nigh It was suggested to me by a friend another post apocalyptic story that sounded a bit more to my taste. I like to be able to relate to the characters and their struggles.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
The narration did match, but did not help to improve anything. Acting of the voice actors was good, but the content made it sound like a textbook.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment and boredom.
Any additional comments?
I understand why some people like this book, but if you like character rich books that hit the feels, this book will probably bore you.

Fabulous a fun listen
Revisado: 04-04-13
If you could sum up The Lost World in three words, what would they be?
entertaining suspenseful intellectual
What did you like best about this story?
This was a great listen doesn't end like the movie at all if any one is expecting that, but overall very enjoyable, there is a lot more information about the islands secrets and Ingen.
I think more people could have died, but the deaths were suspenseful and horrible in a good dinosaur eating kind of way.
If you like a lot of background and science mixed in with your story this book is a great listen. There are a lot of monologues about evolution and animal behavior that is very interesting.
The reader was great, he was good at conveying emotion and suspense without being over-dramatic.
