I could not stop listening. His story would make anyone feel grateful for the life that they have here in the USA. It was well executed in audiobook form. Sure, an authentic accent would have helped, but really in the end it was still read really well. This was equally as good as Meb's book, which I highly recommend as well.

excessive metaphors do not make a novel awesome

Is there anything you would change about this book?
He is erratic, all over the place. I respect his story and was excited to listen, but he has like a metaphor in every sentence practically, and sometimes repeated. The expansive vocabulary is good but gets a bit much. So does the traveling through time, the transitions are kind of confusing. I am halfway through and am not sure if I am going to finish this.
