Author wrote herself into a corner...

...or, it certainly felt that way. I got so sick of it I skipped two chapters. But I didn’t miss anything for the insipid tendency of the author to repeat herself incessantly expecting her readers to instantly forget the plot and the character buildup. Finally, the end comes and it is so far fetched that I am still cringing. I’m unsure about picking up the next series.

Nice cliffhanger ending!

Despite the tendency to repeat the plot line over and over again, I assume the author thinks we are stupid, the story itself is rather fun. The ending is rather predictable, however, because there is always THAT guy in a story like this.

Necessarily slow

There was a lot of information in this book and pretty well placed action. Criticisms include the author not understanding the mental and emotional developmental placement of a 14 year old female and the speaker’s inability to properly say “carotid artery.” The author used the word “palpable” once which made me realize that if it is ever used again in any of her writings it is already overused. Regardless, the story was fun and poking holes in it is almost as fun. I am looking forward to the rest of the series. I will continue to count the author’s favorite word appearances. The anticipation is palpable.

Fun Read BUT...

Some things were predictable...Spoiler Alert: Rose's final appearance...duh. I appreciated the author's restraint on not overusing the word "palpable" this book. I didn't appreciate the author's lack of experience in how elevators work. Regardless of what universe you are in...elevators do NOT cause you to go weightless when they go UP....exactly the opposite.

Predictable but darker

The suspense is...palpable. (If you haven’t noticed...it’s the authors favorite word.) still, the story is enticing.

Longer read than needed.

Many words. Too many words about feelings. Entire chapter 23 unneeded. But once it got back to the story, and stayed there, it was alright. Some details were painfully forgotten. An entire palace overrun by Green creatures—unaddressed. A wedding planned and fully executed with full spread and tiered cakes in 2 hours. Without sleep for almost 3 days. Impressive. Or stupid writing. But. Overlooking that, good read. Four days in a cell, without bathrooms. Careless writing. Looking forward to next saga. Perhaps the author just got tired of writing this one.
