Fantastic Audiobook!
Revisado: 11-05-13
Audiobook review: "Set the Night on Fire" was so addictive that I found excuses to listen! Not only was the story well written, but being a child of the 60s, I found I had a special affinity for the historical aspects of the book. Ms. Hellmann's masterful writing made me care about the characters and I felt like I knew them. She flawlessly drew me from the past to the present, time and again and tied these two storylines together in such a way that I could relate to both. In addition, every time I thought I had things figured out, there was a twist that added another layer and another level to the intrigue. The narration was great. Ms. Gelman was easy to listen to and played a significant part in drawing me into the book and keeping me there. Thank you both for a wonderful time!!

Another Great Book by Stacy Juba!
Revisado: 08-13-13
Taking a page out of today’s society, Sink or Swim is about a young woman who was a contestant on a reality show, with the hope of winning the big prize so she could move forward with achieving her ambitious goal of self-employment. She was prepared for the stresses and rigors of the game itself. What she wasn’t prepared for was her life becoming public once she came home. Along with the notoriety, she acquired a stalker.
I listened to Ms. Juba’s other contemporary mystery, Twenty-Five Years Ago Today, and loved it; so, I was eager to hear Sink or Swim. I thoroughly enjoyed it!! Ms. Juba’s writing style is compelling, intriguing, and believable. I was sucked into the story and fell right in step with Cassidy (the main character), as she tried to determine who was tormenting her. As with Twenty-Five Years Ago Today, I was surprised by the ending. I did not solve the case ahead of time! In addition to the mystery, Sink or Swim also has just the right amount of romance to make it a great listen. I gave the narration four out of five stars. I’m sure it’s difficult to create different voices/sounds for each character in a book; however, there were a few times when I was confused about who was speaking. All in all, though, I would definitely recommend Sink or Swim. I’ll be looking for Ms. Juba’s next book!!

Stacy Juba has a hit with Twenty-Five Years Ago Today! I was captivated immediately and looked for excuses to listen. The story has an easy flow and a natural progression, which made it very enjoyable. Ms. Juba’s characters are real and relatable. The story encompasses not only the mystery of the unsolved murder itself, but brings the listener into the personal lives and the backstories of the characters. It also has a sweet touch of romance. As I listened, I found myself following along with Kris (the lead character), trying to put together the clues and solve the case in my head. I thought I had it figured out; however, I was completely surprised by the ending. I did NOT see that coming! The book concludes in a very satisfying manner, as Ms. Juba doesn’t leave any loose ends to frustrate the listener, which I really appreciated. Erin Moon, the narrator, did an excellent job of reading the book. She was an asset to an already great story. I will be searching out more books by Ms. Juba and I highly recommend Twenty-Five Years Ago Today.

Ms. Hellman is not just an author, she is a story weaver!! She takes pieces of people’s lives-- through varied time periods and physical locations-- and entwines them into a riveting tale of murder, intrigue, relationships, hopes, and dreams. The main story begins when Ellie Foreman, the lead character, receives an anonymous video of a young woman being murdered in Chicago and finds herself drawn into trying to help solve this case. Ms. Hellman pulls threads from the past…the crumbling Soviet Union, international diamond trade, greed, corruption, and the human price that is paid along the way. There are a number of supporting characters and time periods in the story and Ms. Hellman masterfully weaves them all together to create a book that I didn't want to put aside and that held my complete interest from start to finish. I love Ms. Hellman’s writing style and admire her storytelling abilities! Last, but certainly not least, the narrator (Robin Rowan) was easy to listen to and was a definite asset to this audiobook. I highly recommend it!

Historia
All Casey Reynolds wanted was peace and quiet and a long vacation from covering the crime beat in Boston. That's why she agreed to borrowing a villa in Mexico to rest, be alone, and work on her novel. But then he showed up - Travis Craig. He said he was offered the villa to recover from a serious illness. She agreed with his plan to share the house - but on her terms. Soon rest and relaxation were a thing of the past when their double occupancy proved too erotic to control.

Double Occupancy is a Winner!
Revisado: 05-10-13
Saying that Ms. Chase has a way with words certainly is an understatement. She can craft sentences in such a way that the reader is transported into the scene. Her descriptive manner of writing allowed me to have a wonderful movie of this book playing through my head while I listened to it. In addition, the story was interesting, entertaining, enticing, and delightfully naughty! The male and female narration added to the presentation, and the music that punctuated the book was an added bonus. I think you'll enjoy this one!

Fashionista Heaven!
Revisado: 05-06-13
Best Laid Plans is well written and Ms. Chase easily drew me into the story, with descriptions of people, places, and things that allowed me to feel like I was right there with the characters. I could see the fashion designs and decor she described. The storyline was sweet and I was happy to see that Amanda made the right choice in the end! I love a happily ever after! :) The only improvement I would offer is with narration, which I thought could have been better (smoother, more connected, and with better inflection). All in all, a great listen.
