Great Book, bad narration
Revisado: 06-20-24
This is a case where the author should not have narrated. It's like listening to a relative try and read a book to you. It would have been better for him to pay a professional to read it, as it distracts from what you are trying to learn.
The book itself is great. As an introvert, with social anxiety and no social skills, this helped me to better understand how to navigate a world built for extroverts.

Meyer and Soler make a great team
Revisado: 08-26-19
Soler brings to life a wonderful retelling of Cinderella, written in a way that makes you forget that the story was inspired by the classic fairytale. Even if cyborgs and space tales aren't your thing, you will be sure to find the story of Cinder bith engaging and addicting. The Lunar Chronicles does not disappoint as a series...

Not my favorite Kinsella novel
Revisado: 08-26-19
Kinsella is one of my favorite authors, writing light, comical, fun novels that keep me entertained as I accomplish mundane tasks. This isn't my favorite though, as there were a lot of negative themes that I usually am trying to escape from. If you haven't read one of her books before, I'd start with Undomestic Goddess or Shopoholic first. This was an ok book but it definately does not do her storytelling abilities justice.

Downton Abbey with Magic
Revisado: 08-26-19
This is a world that Voldermort would love, where the magical community rules and muggles are assigned to service roles. The story is simple, no where as complex and mysterious as a Rowling novel but is a good beach read and is both engaging and enjoyable to listen to.

Fantastic new world with an addictive story line
Revisado: 08-01-18
If you loved the movie you'll love the book... even more. Don't expect the same story because it's different, which I LOVED. I enjoyed the movie and expected the book to be similar with additional details but was delighted to find that it was a very different version of the same story. So, while I knew some of the major plot twists, I was still engaged as I didnt really know what was coming next and there were a few major differences I didn't expect. I suppose it would be a similar experience as those who watched Harry Potter first and then proceeded to read the book. Though I wouldn't recommend going this route for HP, you won't be disappointed if you've watched the movie and are interested in the book.... looking forward to Ready Player 2.

Sammy the goldfish in my parents’ kitchen is not the same goldfish that Mum gave me to look after when she and Dad were in Egypt. Secrets from her boyfriend: I weigh 128 pounds. I thought that this would be fun to listen to at work. I was right! I really enjoyed this listen and couldn’t put it down! I even looked for an excuse to go to the grocery store without my husband so that I could continue to listening. It was light-hearted and funny which was exactly what I was looking for. I would definitely recommend this book to others looking for a something funny, with a cute story.

Cute Story
Revisado: 04-18-08
I am a huge potter fan, and I enjoyed this story. It is great for kids and wonderful for adults who want to listen to a simple good-hearted story. If you are looking for something that is unpredictable, however, this story is not for you. Many of the plot lines were obvious but it was fun to listen and see how your assumptions will roll out. I would recommend this book.
