I felt the story was incomplete
Revisado: 04-20-22
I really liked the story of Catherine and Hugo and their unlikely match. The book spanned many years of their lives and I grew to love their characters but felt the ending left a lot to be desired. I felt like there was little closure.
The narration was great! Excellent accents and pacing! Felt like I was in the thick of the action.

Perfectly entertaining story
Revisado: 04-16-22
I really enjoyed the thoughtful romance between Harriet and Nicholas. I thought the story of how they met and then reconnected years later to be very sweet. I loved how Nicholas was always looking out for her even if he doesn’t understand why he feels drawn to do so. This is another entertaining narration by Naomi Rose-Mock. Her voice always draws me into the story. I would definitely listen to this again.

Excellent well-written romance
Revisado: 09-07-21
I absolutely loved this book and am delighted to find out this is a series! This book, set in the Regency era, was so well written. I really liked the plot and how it brought together Rose d'Aubrey and Viscount Gideon Somers. Miss Rose d'Aubrey has been twice engaged and twice her fiancee has died leaving her with virtually no prospects for marriage. Gideon is trying to help avoid a scandal with his family and needs to take a wife. Through a twist of fate they end up agreeing to marry one another only to realize that they both had affections for each other for a long time. Rose is the perfect match for Gideon and his wild but lovable siblings, who are great characters in their own right. I would recommend reading the novella, Dreamer and the Debutante for the backstory on Gideon's family scandal.
I thought Naomi Rose-Mock's narration was excellent and the accents were perfect! She really does a great job giving each character in the book their own voice, which almost makes you feel like you are listening to play. I have listened to a few of her narrations before and I will definitely listen to more. I hope she narrates the whole series!

Sweet story - great narration!
Revisado: 07-22-21
Overall I liked this story. It was very sweet, if not a little implausible given the time period. The book is set in what appears to be the Regency era in London. The book introduces Tina, an illegitimate child of a member of society. She is smart, kind, and very talented at fashion design and soon befriends the Duke's sister while making dresses for her. The book follows Tina's relationship with her biological mother and her and her blossoming, but unprobeable relationship with the Duke. I found elements of the book hard to believe, but that is the fun in fiction-you can just accept what is presented and enjoy it for what it is!
The narration was very good. Ms. Rose-Mock does a great job with the British accents in the book and an excellent job with the male and female characters' voices! Each one sounded completely different which made the book very entertaining to listen to. My only criticism of the Audible book is that the editing of chapters or written breaks in a chapter seemed a little off at points, but this did not detract from my enjoyment of the book!

Beautifully written story with excellent narration
Revisado: 07-15-21
This was a wonderfully written book about addiction, grief and finding your way forward. I really loved how well the author describes what it is like to live with a person who has an addiction and the toll it can take on a person. The heroine, August, is a strong person who has been left to pick up the pieces after coming home to a terrible surprise. I love that the author did not shy away from August's troubles and allowed us to see the messy journey she took in the aftermath of this surprise. Chance, was a loveable friend who stole my heart with his care and affection for August. I enjoyed that neither August or Chance were cookie cutter perfect people, but each had their own issues that they were trying to atone for making the book relatable.
The narration was excellent. Ms. Rose-Mock did a wonderful job bringing this story to life. Her use of accents transported me back home to my Texas roots and were quite believable. The pacing of the book and the narration were great and I look forward to reading more books by Shari Ryan and narrations my Naomi Rose-Mock.
