I have already listened to all of Brent’s books and really enjoy them. This one raises the bar even higher though. The performance is perfect but the writing and in depth look into Otto has really made for a up close and intimate portrait.
Hands down my favorite book to date .

Great Message ! But

Very inspirational and motivating messages . The only drawback is the audio quality is very poor throughout the speeches and isn’t balanced volume wise and even goes mute for a while during the presentations .

Love love love this book. The plot and characters were perfect. Lots of laughs along the way. Only thing that was better was the performance by the cast. They brought the book to life.

Another great one !

In Jay Bells follow up book to his Something Like series I am still blown away by the authors ability to continue with a new storyline and new characters to tell another coming of age story that needs to be read by any gay, bi, or questioning adolescent and even young adults. Without giving any of the plot away he dives into many subjects that are thought to be taboo and are never spoken about while growing up and developing and coming of age. The author offers such an important voice that is rarely found in fictional writing and yet strikes a chord with almost everyone I know.

The man behind the leader

I learned more from Chris Matthews than I have anyone about Bobby. One of the most moving tributes that tried to paint the picture of what Bobby really meant to Jack, to his family , and most importantly to History. Very inspirational .

What a dream

A great story with a simple plot but a timeless message. I really enjoyed the main character and his family story and other than the noticeable piecing together of the audio I enjoyed Lee’s performance.

Must come to an end . One last love story with the two characters that have had a profound impact on my life. Love , laughter, and emotion are all tied up in Jay’s last novel of an amazing series. To be a gay 30 something man growing up in a time that overlapped the timeline of events of the series is the best I have ever came across. Kevin, as always, does an amazing job with the characters and performance.

A must read !!!

I don’t think any one review can do this book the justice it deserves . I have never come across a text that has done a better job of filling in the blanks of what happened historically and politically during the 60s and 70s that led to Vietnam and the exit there of. The author does an amazing job of chronologically setting up the events, including major key players in the political field that would shape and change the democracy in the US forever.

I was born in the late 70s and my father had served in Vietnam and I had more questions than answers and the more I got into this book I could not put it down and stop listening. I have read many books on Vietnam on the political side of things but I have not come across one that pulls on as many different major candidates for President than this book to tell the story that hasn’t been told with this much clarity and finally an homage that has been long overdue to Eugene McCarthy.
