Historia
You may be surprised to learn that microchips are the new oil—the scarce resource on which the modern world depends. Today, military, economic, and geopolitical power are built on a foundation of computer chips. Virtually everything—from missiles to microwaves—runs on chips, including cars, smartphones, the stock market, even the electric grid. Until recently, America designed and built the fastest chips and maintained its lead as the #1 superpower, but America’s edge is in danger of slipping, undermined by players in Taiwan, Korea, and Europe taking over manufacturing.

Captivating, interesting
Revisado: 01-01-25
Captivating, interesting story, loved every chapter, especially the last ones.
Narration very well done (though I'm not 100% fan of the narrator's voice).

Historia
In Straight Talk on Trade, Dani Rodrik, an early and outspoken critic of economic globalization taken too far, goes beyond the populist backlash and offers a more reasoned explanation for why our elites' and technocrats' obsession with hyper-globalization made it more difficult for nations to achieve legitimate economic and social objectives at home: economic prosperity, financial stability, and equity.

Historia
How do master storytellers compel us? There have been many attempts to understand what makes a good story, but few have used a scientific approach. In The Science of Storytelling, Will Storr applies dazzling psychological research and cutting-edge neuroscience to our myths and archetypes to show how we can tell better stories, revealing, among other things, how storytellers - and also our brains - create worlds by being attuned to moments of unexpected change.

Fascinating, revealing about human nature

Loved it, recommending to all curious, non-writers and writers alike. Fascinating story, revealing mostly about human nature in general, not at all just for writing stories itself.

Historia

Great book with some important truuths in it.
Revisado: 10-27-19
Great book with some important truths in it. If you're already into the topics he discusses then you may though at times be bored a bit and not get much valuable insights from it. Not all details of his narrative are perfectly compelling.
He talks a lot about his particular experience; with some but at times limited value.
Narrator's voice is quite perfect though also bit monotonous and boring.
