I love Bridgerton’s so much

4.5 stars- rounded to 5. I will say initially this one was harder for me to connect with. Sophia was, dare I say, a little boring and one dimensional at first. But the more I went on the more I loved it and, just like the others in this series, it melted my heart.

Such a necessary book for people who are chronic overachievers and under self nurturers. It really makes you examine the way in which you recharge your own batteries.

Obviously it was sexy but some parts felt really underdeveloped. I put together all the "intriguing" things that were going on but it was like they could have used more chapter time instead of letting the reader just gather what happened. It wasn't bad but not my favorite. Sebastian York and Elena Wolfe are amazing as narrators though.

This book didn't blow me away. It felt a lot like the author just wanted to showcase every great quote that they've heard from some famous person. the narration was fine however I did listen to it in 1.4x speed because I felt like they were talking soooo slow. Overall it was fine- as will any personal development book some parts were just not for me but some other parts were.

Great stuff

It doesn't hurt to take a critical look at the books that hold value in our society. Sociology is a really complicated subject and boiling it down to a few statistics in a book doesn't always work, even when it's neatly packaged. The show is funny in addition to educational which is my favorite kind of podcast.

Gritty, Raw, Heartbreaking, Intense

I could go on and on about all the ways this book broke my heart. It wasn't a beautiful love story with a neat little ribbon ending. It was raw as hell and I can completely understand why some people would be so adamantly against it. It certainly isn't for everyone and I doubt it'll be discussed in book clubs but I loved it. It really made me feel all the feelings. The characters were dynamic and I loved the multiple narrators. As the title says, it really was all the ugly and wonderful things.

I was waiting for a little more

I kept wanting a little more from out FMCs. I was really hoping that, at least one of them, would grow a backbone and teach these dumb boys a lesson. Overall it was entertaining though and the world building is decent. I'll keep reading.

The entire beginning of this book was just okay. I just feel like the pacing could've been better, The ending was super eventful and cool but the "shocking twist" at the end I had already kind of worked out. I think I'll continue with the second book to see if the second one is a solid 4.

I'm obsessed

I DEVOURED this book. This was such a sweet slow burn with the most amazing characters. I definitely identify as a character driven reader and I loved Vanessa, Aiden, and Zack so much. I really hope that Zack will get his own spinoff in the future because he is so precious. If you're looking for something to pass the time quickly- this is definitely it.

(ps.- I gave the performance 4 stars only because I didn't love the way she played Aiden's voice- it doesn't take away from this being an amazing book or her performance of Vanessa though)

Amazing!!

An amazingly well written, produced, and laid out podcast. I was in high school during the meltdown and my family definitely felt its affects but I can't say I fully understood what was happening in the world. I wish everyone would listen to this to gain a clearer understanding of how we got here.
