Historia
When Raik, the most cunning smuggler this side of the desert, finds where the Ivory King vaults his magical runes—he builds a crew to execute an elaborate heist. Among them is Kahli Mahanta, a religious assassin with blind ambition. A young rogue, Kirin, with wit sharper than his arrows ought to be. And Amara, the so-called Nightspirit, whose raven-hair conceals even darker secrets. It won't be easy. They’re opposed by the curved blades of the magic-deranged, watched by a paranoid king, and hunted by gaunt beasts that click in the cold desert night.

Wonderful
Revisado: 11-17-22
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. I have not found a heist book that I have enjoyed until now, and trust me I have tried. Honestly, when this tour was announced the first time I did not even consider reading the book, I saw the word heist and was like nope those are not for me. But there was just something about the synopsis that made me keep coming back to it. I am so glad that I listened to that little voice, that said give it a chance.
As a character-driven reader, I really enjoyed our main cast of characters. The characters have depth and I loved how we learned more about them through flashbacks. They are a very unlikely bunch, and you would not expect them to be able to work well together. I can not think of one thing I would change about the characters.
The world-building was great, I could picture The Jeweled Lands without an issue. The story did not seem to lag at any point. The only complaint is that it was not longer or there is not another book planned that I am aware of.
I listened to the audiobook for this one, and it was great. I really enjoyed Ulka Simone Mohanty as the narrator. She did an amazing job.
I honestly do not know if there is going to be a sequel, but the author left room for one if they decide to continue on. I really hope they do! I enjoyed this book so much, I have considered trying to track down a physical copy of it for my shelves.

Amazing Ending
Revisado: 12-31-20
This was the final book in the Reign of Secrets series. I loved the ending, I could not have asked for a better one; however, I am sad that it is over. I really grew to love these characters and I enjoyed watching their journey.
In this installment, you finally get to see things from both Allyssa and Savenek’s POV. I really enjoyed seeing how Allyssa and Savenek are able to form a bond after being apart of their entire lives. Yes, it is fast but I think that it is believable because they are able to see how the other lived beforehand and they are both mad at their parents for keeping them apart.
I think that Karden is my favorite character in this series. I love how straight forward he is and that he shakes things up for the royals. Oh and the romance between Allyssa and him was top notch. I also couldn’t help but root for Savenek and Maria too.
This series had amazing writing and the story was wonderful. I could not have asked for more. Jennifer Anne Davis is now an author that I need to read more by. I really hope that she decides to come back to this world and give us a few more books 🙂

Great for all fantasy lovers
Revisado: 09-14-20
This is the second book in the Highglade series, and I have not read the first one so I was not sure how this was going to go. I can honestly say that this book can be read as a stand-alone. I did not feel like I was missing information. I was able to read and enjoy this book as a whole.
This book is fast-paced and I was pulled into the story quickly. Once I started this book I did not want to put it down. This is more of a military fantasy which is something I do not read much but it was written in such a way that I loved it.
This book is perfect for any lovers of fantasy!

Very Disappointing
Revisado: 09-13-20
I had a hard time writing this review. This series up to this book had been fun, but dI found myself not liking this book very much. If I am being completely honest if I did not have one more book provided by the author in this series I would not be continuing.
This book was supposed to be focused on Kira’s mate Slade, however, most of the book still seemed to focus on Jasin and Auric again. I am really starting to not like the romance it seems very shallow. There was one set of dialog that made me really dislike Jasin as a character so I am not looking forward to the next book since he seems to be the favorite and somehow he manages to be the focus of each book.
I was really looking forward to a book about Slade and I feel like his character was slighted. There does not seem to be much time spent on his character at all in this book.

I've secretly loved my four best friends ever since we were kids playing in the village together, but I can't have them all—and there's no way I can choose only one. Blane, the town's resident bad boy who I can't seem to resist. Roth, the scarred hero who once broke my heart. Derel, the infuriatingly sexy man I've been betrothed to my entire life. And Falon, my best friend, who has never seen me as more—or has he? When the Fire God chooses me to be his High Priestess, he demands I take four men to be my mates.

Light the Fire
Revisado: 08-25-20
I received a copy of this book from the Author, in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is a prequel to the Elemental Dragons series and it can be read as a standalone. However, if you are going to read this as part of this series I suggest you wait to finish the second book first. This installment gives the backstory of the Fire High Priestess and takes place 20 years before the first book in this series. This story also adds a little more background to this world.
This is a super short and fast paced read. I can not make up my mind if it was just too short or if some of the information in it could have been added to the first two books.

I received a copy of this book from the Author, in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This second book picks up right where we leave the characters in the first book. In this installment, we focus on Kira’s mate Auric. All of Auric’s secrets come to light in this one.
The first book only had one steamy scene, but this book is full of them. This book was just a fun and fast-paced read.
We learn more about Kira’s parentage and it explains some things. The world is making a little more sense. This was a fun continuation of this series.

Reverse Harem with Dragons
Revisado: 08-18-20
I received a copy of this book from the Author, in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is the first book in the Her Elemental Dragons Series. This is a multiple POV story you get to see things from all five points of view. Oh and this is a Reverse Harem story. I have never read anything quite like this before and I really enjoyed it.
Being the first book in a series this one sets up the basis for the world that we are in. I loved how this book was not info-dumpy. The Author cut out all the fluff and we get just the story. This made for a great straight forward read, especially with everything that is going on this is what I needed.
In this book, Kira is just trying to get to know her mates before she has to bond with them. I really enjoyed the fact that she wanted to get to know them and was not just along for the ride. It appears that each of these books will focus on a different mate. I can’t wait to watch this group come together and they learn to trust each other.
The audiobook has two narrators one for the male perspectives and one for the female perspective. The only issue that I had was when the male narrator tried to do a female voice...it just didn’t work for me.

To save the Hatter, Alice must work with the one man she despises so much that she might still love him. Alice thought she'd turned over a new leaf. No more working for Jabberwocky. No more making deals with the ruthless Queen of Hearts. No more hanging around The Mushroom with tinkers, tarts, scoundrels, and thieves in London's criminal underbelly. But she'd been bonkers to dream.

Loved this take on Alice in Wonderland
Revisado: 06-28-20
I was sold when I heard that this was a Steampunk version of Alice in Wonderland. I have read other books by this author in her steampunk world and I loved them so when I saw that there was a Alice and Wonderland one I couldn’t sign up fast enough.
I am really picky about my Alice in Wonderland retellings. There are a lot of them and I have found that not a lot of them put a new twist on the story. I really enjoyed this twist on Alice in Wonderland. This whole story takes place in Victorian London and all of your players are there. Following the white rabbit down the rabbit hole has a new twist. One thing that I did appreciate is that you not only get your classic characters but you get to see Alice’s sister and Dinah their cat.
There is enough room for Melanie to expand Alice’s story if she wanted to write another book following her.
This story isn’t very long so I do not want to spoil the story for you. But do know that if you like the world that she has created then you are in for a treat because all of her steampunk books take place in the world.

In her mesmerizing fourth work of fiction, Sue Monk Kidd takes an audacious approach to history and brings her acclaimed narrative gifts to imagine the story of a young woman named Ana. Raised in a wealthy family with ties to the ruler of Galilee, she is rebellious and ambitious, with a brilliant mind and a daring spirit. She engages in furtive scholarly pursuits and writes narratives about neglected and silenced women. Ana is expected to marry an older widower, a prospect that horrifies her. An encounter with 18-year-old Jesus changes everything.

Wonderful writing
Revisado: 06-03-20
I really wanted to read this book but I was not sure how I was going to feel about it. I spent my teenage years being very religious. More in the since of study and research. I read many stories and different takes on the stories in the Bible. So I was not sure if I was going to be able to read this story without comparing it to everything I already knew. In the end I really enjoyed this story.
First and foremost this is the story of Ana the wife of Jesus. Jesus having a wife is not a new concept I have heard many believe that Mary Magdalene was his wife, because she is mentioned in the Bible. I know that this is a very hot topic with some people. The concept of him having a wife is based on society of that time. So yes it is very possible that he did.
Now for hard part… telling you how I feel without spoiling you for this story.
The first 3/4 of this book kept my interest and I really enjoyed it but that last 1/4 of the book blew me away. The writing in this book is beautiful and Ana is a passionate and loving person. If Jesus did have a wife I hope she was like Ana. All of the characters in this story felt human, yes, even Jesus. This is the most real I think I have ever read him to be and I enjoyed her take on him so much..This book made me feel so many things and I almost cried. I don’t cry while reading books, but this one almost got me.
One more thing if you pick up this book make sure to also read the Authors Note at the end. At least for my research loving heart I fount that to be interesting too.

Biffy, newly minted Alpha of the London Pack, is not having a good Christmas. His Beta abandoned him, his werewolves object to his curtain choices, and someone keeps leaving babies on his doorstep.
Professor Randolph Lyall returns home to London after 20 years abroad, afraid of what he might find. With his pack in chaos and his Alpha in crisis, it will take all his Beta efficiency to set everything to rights. Perhaps, in the process, he may even determine how to mend his own heart.

Wonderful
Revisado: 05-25-20
To date as of writing this review I have read all of the books that take place in this universe that are currently out. Yes I know I cheated and jumped ahead. I liked this novella but did not love it. The tone of this one just seemed off to me or maybe I just hyped this one up too much in my head.
Upon reflecting some more (3 days) it might have to do with this being only male perspectives. Not that there is anything wrong with that but I love Gail's female characters and I love the back and forth banter you get.
Other than the above comment / reflection I liked the story. I liked how she introduced US vs UK werewolf culture. It was a great setup for another novella, and I can't wait to share my thoughts on that one. I also loved seeing how the pack evolved after Lord Macon.
So long story short. The story gave me closure regarding the pack transition. I did like, but I think because who it was about I hyped it up too much to myself. Which is my own fault not the books. I see myself reading this book again.
