If you could sum up An Introduction to Infectious Diseases in three words, what would they be?
informative, accessible, entertaining
Any additional comments?
These lectures explain bacteria, viruses, even the effectiveness of antibiotics and hygiene products. If you have interest on how these little intruders work and how to reduce your risk then I definitely would recommend this.

Historia
Donald R. Prothero explains the scientific process and why society has come to rely on science not only to provide a better life but also to reach verifiable truths no other method can obtain. He describes how major scientific ideas that are accepted by the entire scientific community (evolution, anthropogenic global warming, vaccination, the HIV cause of AIDS, and others) have been attacked with totally unscientific arguments and methods.

Historia
When he was 19, James Stark was considered to be one of the greatest natural magicians, a reputation that got him demon-snatched and sent downtown - to Hell - where he survived as a gladiator, a sideshow freak entertaining Satan's fallen angels. That was 11 years ago. Now, the hitman who goes only by Stark has escaped and is back in L.A. Armed with a fortune-telling coin, a black bone knife, and an infernal key, Stark is determined to destroy the magic circle.

Historia
A highly infectious, deadly virus from the central African rain forest suddenly appears in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. There is no cure. In a few days, 90 percent of its victims are dead. A secret military SWAT team of soldiers and scientists is mobilized to stop the outbreak of this exotic "hot" virus. The Hot Zone tells this dramatic story, giving a hair-raising account of the appearance of rare and lethal viruses and their "crashes" into the human race. Shocking, frightening, and impossible to ignore, The Hot Zone proves that truth really is scarier than fiction.

A study of Ebola inside a great story!
Revisado: 01-14-12
If you could sum up The Hot Zone in three words, what would they be?
Scary, informative, gripping
What did you like best about this story?
I enjoyed learning about the Ebola Virus while giving a face and personality to both its victims and its pursuers, which made the story aspect informative and compelling at the same time.
What does Richard M. Davidson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The narrator was great in both the dialogue and inner thoughts of the witnesses and the informative parts.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I live a few miles from Reston Virginia and I have been looking for a book that gave insight into what happened rather than just skimming on the details. The author through various witness accounts paints the story from the eyes of the people who were there inside that building and what they felt at the time which made the biggest difference.

Historia
Rick Yancey’s first gothic suspense tale, The Monstrumologist, earned him a prestigious Michael L. Printz Award. The second installment of this acclaimed series, Curse of the Wendigo, finds young Will Henry on the hunt for a supernatural beast plaguing New England in the late 1800s. Will and his mentor, the domineering Dr. Warthrop, are enlisted to help the doctor’s former fiancée. It seems her husband has been lost in the Canadian wilderness.

A great book for fans of monster horror books
Revisado: 04-26-11
I was delightfully surprised how good this book was. The scenario is set up well and the author did his homework on Wendigos and you really feel the fear and paranoia that the characters go through. I really liked the two main characters of the story and cared what happened to them. I would recommend that you read the first book but it is not necessary but it does give you a background on the characters so that it is easier to follow.
