Historia
As far as rash decisions go, it was formidable. But Lady Jocelyn Rathbourne's will remains strong. If the only way to save her family's estate and reputation is by aiming a small pistol at the Duke of Calydon, then so be it. For Lady Jocelyn demands satisfaction - and she will have it at any cost. HE THREATENS TO BEAT HER. NO. NUHUH.
“Let me educate you, then. You are my wife. Thus, my property. I am well within my rights to beat you if I so desire, or banish you from my sight. I am trying to understand how you thought you could so blatantly defy me and go unpunished. I believe the best punishment will be to banish you. To Devonshire. And it would be an injustice if I did not beat you first.”

Stunning
Revisado: 11-27-23
I am raw right now. I feel ravaged by so so many emotions, not the least of which is the gratitude I have for writers who take their histories, their pain, and turn it into the most exquisite art.
Salt Houses is stunning and absolutely transformative in its humanity. Hala Alyan left me so moved, so shaken, there is nothing I'd love more than everyone to experience these emotions with me, with her. I truly have no words but am more than happy to forward you the sobbing incoherent voice notes I sent to friends who were also sobbing and incoherent while reading this glorious wonderful transcendent book.
I would tell you about the characters, the plot, but I truly cannot at the moment. I just need to sit with my feelings for a good long while. I think I now know what Mr. Knightly meant when he said, "If I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more."

Historia
Minor Detail begins during the summer of 1949, one year after the war that the Palestinians mourn as the Nakba - the catastrophe that led to the displacement and exile of some 700,000 people - and the Israelis celebrate as the War of Independence. Israeli soldiers murder an encampment of Bedouin in the Negev desert, and among their victims, they capture a Palestinian teenager, and they rape her, kill her, and bury her in the sand. Many years later, in the near-present day, a young woman in Ramallah tries to uncover some of the details surrounding this particular rape and murder.

Historia
Sam can’t escape the smash hit “Lost Boy” because, well, he is the lost boy. His pop-singer ex immortalized him in a song about his childish ways, and now his comedy career is on the line. At least he still has Bree, his best friend and confidante. Bree has always been there for Sam, but she’s never revealed her biggest secret: she’s in love with him. To help herself move on, Bree applies for her dream job across the country—and doesn’t say a thing to Sam. But as Sam tries to resuscitate his career, he turns to Bree for support—and maybe more.

Huge let down
Revisado: 08-14-23
This is a story about a wonderful ambitious woman who has been pining away for a man child who has no control over his emotions. So of course she's held herself back and missed career opportunities because her BFF would throw a fit if she left.
I hated pretty much everything about this book but especially the hero.

Worth the wait!
Revisado: 03-14-23
I've been waiting for Silas's story for so long and boy did it deliver 💜
While The One Month Boyfriend deals with a lot of heavier issues, this book has so much light! I really appreciate that so much of the book was dedicated to Silas and Kat spending time together on-page, going on their "fake" dates so we got to watch these two fall in love in real time. The two MCs have a little bad blood between them at the start of the book because of the way some things transpired in the past but once we have the whole story, we can sympathize with both the characters. The two are complicated, hot, reluctant to let anyone get too close, and so so deserving of love.
Kat has anxiety, especially social anxiety, and I really liked the way this was handled by the author. I have the same kind of anxiety (though not as bad) so it was nice to come across this rep in a way I could (somewhat) relate to without feeling like it was a caricature.
I've been intrigued by Silas from his very first cameo in Enemies With Benefits and gah, I loved his complicated mind! His friendship with Levi is still one of my favorite things about Break The Rules. I also love that we got to see Javier doing better, and Levi and June's few cameos 💜
The audio was also wonderful and immersive, and I was hooked from the very start.

Historia
I’ve had feelings for Eve Roberts for as long as I can remember, but because she also happens to be the twin sister of my best friend, Eric, I’ve never acted on my feelings and long ago resigned myself to keeping my crush under wraps. But after a terrible falling-out with Eric involving a failed restaurant venture and plenty of blame on both sides, I’m back in Port Snow without my best friend and without any direction. But can you guess who’s here? Eve. And my attraction to her is as strong as ever.

Disappointing
Revisado: 02-08-23
The brother in this brother's best friend book deserves to be put through a meat grinder. I'm SO tempted to give this book 2 stars bc of how that storyline played out. (Honestly, just push him into the ocean.)
I enjoyed the narrators for the book overall but hated the way the male narrator did Brig's voice (the MMC's brother).

Historia
No job, no money, no love - and to make things worse, 27-year-old Charlie has no choice but to leave New York City and move in with his mom in his isolated and conservative hometown of Sunset Springs. Home isn’t a comfortable place for Charlie. One of very few Black residents and the only trans person around town that he knows of, this will be Charlie’s first time back in Sunset Springs since he transitioned. He expects confusion and maybe even hostility. He definitely does not expect Jackson Ford.

Downsized, broke, and dumped, 38-year-old Marley sneaks home to her childhood bedroom in the town she couldn't wait to escape 20 years ago. Not much has changed in Culpepper. The cool kids are still cool. Now they just own car dealerships and live in McMansions next door. Oh, and the whole town is still talking about that Homecoming she ruined her senior year.

Revisado: 01-21-22
This book is a DELIGHT! My third Lucy Score book and it had the same issues with the third act as the previous 2 but I adore the supporting cast of characters and the way the story progressed. So good!! The narration is also great - especially the male narrator.
