Historia
When Danielle Boatman inherits Marlow House, she dreams of turning it into a seaside bed and breakfast. Since she's never visited the property, Danielle's not sure what awaits her in Oregon. She certainly doesn't expect to find one of the house's previous owners still in residence. After all, the man has been dead for almost 90 years - shouldn't he have moved on by now? Charming Walt Marlow convinces Danielle the only way he can move on is if she solves the mystery of his death.

Childish dialogue, convoluted story, flat characters
Revisado: 02-04-24
I loved the idea of this book so much, which is why I kept reading it. Walt Marlow was by far the best character, the two female characters (Danielle and Lily) had no depth. I don’t know if it was the dialogue as written or the dialogue as performed, but at times they sounded like 8-year old girls. You may want to consider reading this book instead of listening to it.

Better than the First!
Revisado: 02-14-23
Loved having the gang back together again! I thought this book was better than the first in the series. Not quite as long and drawn out and the story was more intriguing. I liked that it revolved around Elizabeth's past and so it seemed like the characters (and me!) we're more invested in the outcome. Glad I took the chance and dove into it, right after listening to the first! Leslie Manville is an awesome reader, too.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Wonderful characters but story development is sliw
Revisado: 01-09-23
I loved Tova and Cameron. Really great, likable, relatable characters. The story just developed so slowly, I didn't get invested until halfway through the book. Then at about that point, the reader gets an important piece of information that the characters don't have and it takes forever for the characters to figure it all out. Great story, excellent performance, just sloooow.

Historia
Tom Felton’s adolescence was anything but ordinary. His early rise to fame in beloved films like The Borrowers catapulted him into the limelight, but nothing could prepare him for what was to come after he landed the iconic role of the Draco Malfoy, the bleached blonde villain of the Harry Potter movies. For the next ten years, he was at the center of a huge pop culture phenomenon and yet, in between filming, he would go back to being a normal teenager trying to fit into a normal school. Speaking with great candor and his signature humor, Tom shares his experience.

His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. high school drama for adults?
Revisado: 09-27-22
I had hope for this book, but all the "drama" surrounding the main character seemed childish and not really dramatic at all. Like watching my daughter go thru her high school dramas, I just rolled my eyes and thought "get over it." Maybe this book is YA? It was like a book about adult things, written for a child. Characters were flat. Reader performed the book like she was smiling the whole time. (SPOILER!) Author missed a huge opportunity for Jillian to grow by not bringing Miranda into the present day story.

Enjoyed learning more about Maude, but the story didn't match the title. Not nearly as much murdering as the first book. this one was more about redemption than revenge for being crossed.
