Historia
Stuart Milligan, Anthony Head and Camille Coduri are the readers of these three original novels featuring the Ninth Doctor, Rose and Captain Jack, as played on TV by Christopher Eccleston, Billie Piper and John Barrowman. In these adventures in time and space, the travellers discover a dangerous alien predator at an abandoned Soviet naval base, a Neanderthal man in modern day London, and a world on which fiction has been outlawed.

I am only thru The Deviant Strain however…
Revisado: 03-14-23
The narration on the first story is awful. The story is great. And I can imagine how exciting it would be with one of the great narrators who can do Nine, Rose, and Jack’s voice. Or at least appropriate accents to mimic them. Never has an accent sounded less like Nine. Except maybe when they were doing Rose. Jack wasn’t bad, only at least because it’s an American accent. But having Doctor Who narration done in an American Accent? It should be illegal! I’m praying the next two stories go better based on who the narrators are. But as of right now? Narration gets a 1 star. Sorry!

Worth it for V and Butch Alone!
Revisado: 01-13-22
This is a great book and I really liked Jo. But there are SO many warm cuddly feels for V and Butch in this book. If you love them like I do read this and just ride the endorphins you’ll get from their bromance.

The epilogue ruined the series for me.
Revisado: 06-17-21
This was a great series. I really enjoyed it. I loved the character arcs and all the ups and downs. So many times you thought all was lost. And it made the miraculous moments feel that much better. The way this “ended” made it a fantastic trilogy for me. Was just getting ready to recommend it to EVERYONE. And then there was a epilogue. I don’t want to give everything away, but that epilogue took away so much from how we felt towards the main character. And it took so much away from how we could feel about a happy ending. Unless the author is considering continuing the series or perhaps a spinoff where she can resolve the wrong she revealed in the epilogue of this book, I know I will continue to be very disappointed. How could you do that to your own characters?

Made me uncomfortable.
Revisado: 05-06-19
I just finished this tome. I like vampire stories, funny stories, and especially long stories. This seemed to fit the bill... no pun intended.
But after just a little time listening, I almost gave up on it. It made me uncomfortable!
The story premise is great and the characters are mostly good.
But the “humor” is so off putting. Perhaps I’m just used to more intelligent jokes? But these are low... homophobic, sexist, and just inappropriately juvenile.
You know when you go back and watch a tv show from an earlier time and your skin crawls because they’d never get away with some of the comments nowadays?
That’s what this collection gave me.
And it ended on a cliffhanger. I’m not sure I can put up with a whole other tome just to get closure?

Wasn't at ALL what I was expecting!
Revisado: 09-25-13
And I don't mean that in one of those "This is a happy surprise!" kind of ways.
This book was one big incestuous mess! Even if there wasn't any real incest going on, every coupling seemed dirty and wrong.
Very few characters had any redeeming qualities. The plot tried much to hard to lead you to believe others were the guilty party. And the jumping around? Gawd, my head hurt!
And the ages were all so unbelievable! Who makes Sheriff/Chief in their early twenties???
And why was this under Gay Novels? Because the author has other actual Gay Novels? Or because of one gay character who does little more than have a short bathroom tryst and one BJ with another horrible character? I've never read another Gay Novel with so little Gay in it. And I've read A LOT of them.
But the WORST part, the absolute worst, is how in the heck is this in the same "series" as The Road Home? The two books have NOTHING in common! I'm a little worried to read Last Summer now. If it's completely different than the first two, I'm going to have trouble trusting this author. And since I have purchased a crap load of his books based on enjoying The Road Home, I'm going to be cranky if that is the only likable one.
The narration was good though, I will give it that.

Such a Wonderful Story! Thom Creed is amazing!
Revisado: 04-29-13
A must for superhero fans, since there are not enough superhero books on Audible. The story of a teen coming to terms with a disease that causes him nothing but embarrassment and being gay, which everyone seems to know without him telling them. Add to that the manifestation of superpowers? Just makes a great story. Read it!!
