Historia
The thin thread holding the civilized world together has been severed. Millions of citizens have been thrust into the unknown, breeding fear into the minds and souls of those seeking to survive. After an EMP devastates the US power grid, two scientists are forced to protect their families while struggling to understand the event. As forces gather amid an almost total information blackout, the pair must race against time to save their loved ones.

Didn’t anyone listen to proof the audio?
Revisado: 05-17-21
I was into the story for the first half of the book. But there are so many errors in the audio. Many , many times phrases are repeated. The words are the same but read again as an attempt to maybe improve the tone or slightly change the feeling.? It gets so annoying it was hard to finish. Plus the epilogue was ridiculously long.

Historia
In a near future where climate change has severely affected weather and agriculture, the North End of an unnamed city has long been abandoned in favor of the neighboring South End. Aside from the scavengers steadily stripping the empty city to its bones, only a few thousand people remain, content to live quietly among the crumbling metropolis. Many, like the narrator, are there to try to escape the demons of their past. He spends his time observing and recording the decay around him, attempting to bury memories of what he has lost.

A quiet decline into total societal breakdown. Those who are left just want to live. They remember what it used to be. Before the storms and the division on north and south. Will anything be green again? What is worth living for now?

Great book. New angle on the apocalypse.

Dan luck is either really good or really bad, no in between. I could of been friends with Dan and Carl in high school. The characters are normal and the story keeps a believable path , as society crashes down around Dan .

Should of called it “Abby and her plow”.
Revisado: 04-05-21
I keep hoping the book will get exciting again. This one focused majority of time on Abby and a plow and the fight against the fire. It was refreshing that the last 30 minutes of the book went on to describe getting some pups and an unexpected visit. I’m going to try book three. I sure hope To NOT hear about Abby anymore.

Historia
By the most ludicrous of means, special ops soldier Clayton Sanders had a warning that something was going to happen to the world. Clay prepared for the worst, but just because you're well prepared doesn't mean everything is going to be okay. Clay has faced some of the worst humanity has to offer in all parts of the world, but now he is faced with something much worse than terrorists. His family.

Lack of quality Narration takes away from the story
Revisado: 04-01-21
Brotherhood of Fire is a great story. Well thought out ways to help survive. Unfortunately the narrator does a poor job. It’s difficult to follow at times because there is only an old mans voice, a young mans voice and a female voice used for many different characters . Also one third of the book could be cut out that us nothing but annoying drama with women. I plan to keep listening but I sure hope the next one is better. If it’s the same drama and bad narration I do t think I’ll continue. Good post apocalyptic story otherwise.

Billy Todd has always been different. Most people called him odd, and those were the nice people. Though he was born with a learning disability, Billy's parents never allowed him to consider himself disabled. Raised to be self-sufficient, Billy might not be as smart as some, but he was a lot smarter than people realized.

I thought this was about a guy battling evil after civilization has fallen. Well I guess it is, but there’s weird aliens, and demons and stuff that have cone out of the Earth’s crack. Something about swapping an eye with a huge dog so you see what they do... sounds interesting but that’s one of many events that are just thrown at you with no real background or significance. Feel like I wasted that money.

One of a kind Post apocalyptic timeline taking you years into the future and back again!
Revisado: 10-30-20
I like it when an author does their research on post apocalyptic decline. The author takes you through the normal events with society failing and then she takes you on different sort of ride with a little Shakespeare, and a traveling team of survivors.

Great story! The performance...
Revisado: 07-30-20
This story and reader performance are pretty good for this book. But there are a lot of songs in ‘songbirds and snakes’ and when the songs are read in the flat voice that the dialogue is read in it really takes a lot away from those portions of the book.
