Unbearable narrator!Re-do with Bianca Amato please
Revisado: 08-20-16
What would have made A Fatal Waltz better?
This narrator gives a such a bad narration, with jerky stilted reading, and poor change of character voices. I love the Lady Emily books, have listened to all of them. Such a shame to ruin a good story with a bad narrator. I'm not sure I can even finish this one. PLEASE don't use this narrator for any further books! So disappointing...
Who was your favorite character and why?
Normally it's Lady Emily, but I couldn't stand to listen to this voice interpretation.
Would you be willing to try another one of Charlotte Anne Dore’s performances?
No way. I would avoid even potentially great books if narrated by her.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment

Historia
For a handful of gold, Madame de Morville will read your future in a glass of swirling water. You'll believe her, because you know she's more than 150 years old and a witch, and she has all of Paris in the palm of her hand. But Madame de Morville hides more behind her black robes than you know. Her real age, the mother and uncle who left her for dead, the inner workings of the most secret society of Parisian witches: None of these truths would help her outwit the rich who so desperately want the promise of the future.

Horrible narration
Revisado: 01-10-14
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
A different narrator
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Again, the narrator
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Linda Bruno?
Katherine Kellgren
Any additional comments?
I suffered through 15 chapters hoping it would somehow get better- but, alas, I couldn't stand the mispronunciations, the lack of change in voice between characters, etc. this story seemed like it could have been a good story, but, until they do it with a better performer, I'll never know. Don't waste your credit on this one!

Good story - don't like this narrator
Revisado: 07-01-06
The storyline is good, the historical aspects well blended with the personal, romantic relationships. The first novel, "Chloe", was good also, and well-narrated. This one is done by a different narrator, and it suffers greatly for it. The fake male voices, and at times, the nearly shouting loudness of the her narration is annoying at best. I was hoping the next one would be with the original narrator, however, no such luck. Listen to a sample before buying, maybe she won't annoy you as much as she did me.

Diamond Age
Revisado: 07-19-03
Snow Crash was the first book by this author I had heard, and thought it very entertaining. This book, however, was a waste of a book credit, and my time. Very disappointing. It was boring and had so many loose ends, I had alot of trouble getting through it.
