Better than Fourth Wing

Yep, I said it. I really enjoyed Fourth Wing, but this...loved the pacing, it was better written, and much less spice (which I personally could do without). There were many chapters that were pure fire.

Stephen King never disappoints. I began listening to this on September 6th, 2022; the day it was released. I finished, today, November 14th, 2022. I listened on my very short 23 minute commute to and from work Monday through Friday. This became my world for the past two months. A world that I now feel that I've visited myself. I'll miss Empis and look forward to returning some day. Oh, and Radar, you're a good boy.

Dateline x ghost story is the best way I can describe it. Really enjoyed this story. It kept me interested. The characters were believable. Kept me guessing and was not expecting that ending.

Excellent ScoFi Mystery Thriller...

Phenomenal! This is the second novel by the author that I have listened to and both have been thought provoking and do a great job of getting to the crux of humanity's purpose. So many questions are raised in regards to ethics and morals.
The only slight hiccup I had... that probably only pertains to the Audible version, was the author's use of the adverb "wryly" in a story with a main character by the name of Riley. The first time I heard {"Is that all?" said Carr wryly.}, I had to rewind it several times because I thought I was hearing {"Is that all? said Carr Riley.} I thought it was a mistake. Once I figured it out... all was good. Again, I wouldn't have had that problem if I had read that part.
If you haven't read Doug's work, please check him out. He has kept me entertained for hours and hours!
