I think I can say this is probably my favorite of all her books. This is the second or third time I have listened to it and I’ve read it a couple times previously over the last 15 years. It’s funny, I love it, but my sister didn’t like it. I don’t know what’s not to love about it! You have good characters, good setting for the story, good mystery, to me it has it all.

Perhaps the most compelling murder case of our day, the death of six-year-old JonBenet Ramsey galvanized the nation - and years after it occurred, the mystery still endures. Who killed the young beauty queen and why? Who is covering up for whom, and who is simply lying? In JonBenet, the most authoritative and comprehensive study of the Ramsey murder, a former lead Boulder Police detective, Steve Thomas, explores the case in vivid and fascinating detail.

Boring
Revisado: 02-18-24
All it was to me was a way the author could gripe and complain about how the investigation went and how it was everyone else’s fault.

Narration
Revisado: 09-16-22
I like the book a lot but the narration could use some work. It drove me a little crazy listening to the narrator’s trying to portray other people. They might as well just spoke in their regular voice.

Historia
The tranquility of a luxury cruise along the Nile was shattered by the discovery that Linnet Ridgeway had been shot through the head. She was young, stylish, and beautiful. A girl who had everything...until she lost her life. Hercule Poirot recalled an earlier outburst by a fellow passenger: “I’d like to put my dear little pistol against her head and just press the trigger.” Yet under the searing heat of the Egyptian sun, nothing is ever quite what it seems.

Love Agatha Christie mysteries. This is a good story. However, the narration was very very painful. I honestly couldn’t understand a lot of what was being said.

Convoluted
Revisado: 09-17-21
The story actually move right along and I enjoyed it up until near the end. Then it got really crazy and convoluted. I actually am not really sure what really happened at the end. Who was the main character male who was throughout the story? I never was clear on that. How many tins were there? I just did not enjoy the ending at all.

Intriguing
Revisado: 03-14-21
The book started out very slow, so slow in my opinion that I came close to giving up. I’m glad I did not. The last few chapters were astonishing and tied everything up very nicely. I could envision this as a movie. It’s definitely worth it. I would love to see it on the big screen.

One of the best books I’ve ever listened to
Revisado: 10-06-20
My sister told me about this book. She knew I loved historical fiction in reading stories of people in the Appalachian Mountains. This book did not disappoint. It warmed my heart in such a way that no book has for a long time. I did notice some similarities of this book to another book that I love so much. “To kill a mockingbird “. Every time I heard Cotton Longfellow speak”, I could see Gregory Peck. Curious if anyone else got that connection? Anyway, I would highly recommend this book. I will be checking out further books of this author!

I honestly thought when I was listening to this book, that it had to of been written in the very early to middle 1970s. I was rather surprised when I looked it up and all I could find was copyright 2015. It was very painful to listen to. I love Debbie’s writing normally and I’m glad she doesn’t write like this anymore.

Such a disappointment
Revisado: 12-19-19
It’s a good thing that I read that this book was Debbie‘s first book. I’m not even done with it and I am disappointed. Listening to the emotional abuse from this man to the main character, just makes me angry. Why the heck didn’t she leave him? If this was the first time I had ever read of any of Debbie’s books, I wouldn’t read anymore. Thankfully later books are not like this. It’s kind of amazing that her career continue to grow.
