OK Dean . You win.
Revisado: 03-21-20
You have crafted each book in this series better than the last. I am an avid reader, little things can wreck a story. I just finished reading the third (And so far: best) installment of Dimension Space. Amplitude is excellent. Your writing (the reading as well) is so very easy to listen to and once again your narrators make me feel it to my core.
Your characters are insanely well developed. I hated a couple, loved most, and I am grinning myself silly. I love the fact that this story is so different from the first, and we still get the reminders of our favorite moments from it.
BOb and his cultural references made me laugh so hard at times, I had to stop working and wipe my eyes.
Your supporting characters were perfect for the story. I couldn't find a single flaw. That's a big deal, I'm a picky listener/reader.
I fel tlike I was listening to a movie. The story was that vibrant.
You have outdone yourself. I mean that. It's wonderful. I just had the best day at work that I have had in months. Thank you!
Oh, and BTW? The quotes from the beginning of the book?
"You can't do the end of the world in a ... boy meets girl way." - Terry Southern
"Hold my beer." - Dean M. Cole
I KNEW I was in for a ride. Best ride since "Solitude"!

This book is why I rely on honest reviews!
Revisado: 10-29-19
I am not a a genre-prude. I read a LOT of different genres, but I tend to stay in my lane and only wander into another genre when it's slammed in my face. This book (by it's description) would not be one I would waste a credit on.
Boy Howdy, ;) would I have missed out.
(NO spoliers here).
I literally felt as if I was in the middle of a reality show (except is was actually real) . The writing is SO well done, I forgot I was me, I was just swept away to this place that doesn't exist with some wonderful, and horrible people (that also didn't exist, but I felt like it / they did), and I had SO many goosebumps.
The one thing I am sorry for is that the end didn't resolve as hard as I wanted it to. I wanted more story, but it was STILL very well done. (I hate it when a fantastic story ends, and I will be reading it again.)
The writing was compelling, the narration was SO real, and the story was SO much fun to ride along on.
If you buy this book, be ready to suspend belief just a little, and enjoy this amazing experience.
Thank you Mike Bockoven, Angela Dawe and Luke Daniels! This was the BEST gift!

I haven’t read EVERY book in the post-apocalyptic genre. I have read a lot of them. As chilling as this book can get, it’s amazingly well written. I was impressed enough to read EVERY moment I could. Even the moments that made me ache, they made me FEEL. That is what a book should do. This author has a delicious talent. This narrator does an amazing job. I lived through this book and I wish I could forget it so I can listen for the first time again.

Odd that I liked this! I fought it for years.
Revisado: 09-08-19
This is an older read. Originaly published in 1991, I spent this long NOT reading it (it's 2019: Apparently I am very slow), even when friends told me that it was really good, just BEACUSE I THOUGHT it was a "bodice ripper". I have to say that it's VERY odd that I enjoyed this so much.
It's MUCH more than a "romance" That whole time travel thing wore me out back in 1986, it was tired and too easy. But this book? The storyline is So well formed: the situations they face? Perhaps a bit far fetched at times, but as much fun for that as any fantasy novel I have read, Since I wasn't there? I can't judge the reality, but it was an EPIC ride!
The people became very real to me. I will admit, I needed to be in the right frame of mind to embrace this book, but once I was: It was AMAZING!
The author told a story compelling enough that when my Ipod glitched? I went home to play it on my laptop because I needed the answers. I had to have the final page, and that in itself? Tells me that I need the next book.
The only thing I can add? If you are going to listen? Give it full force attention. You HAVE to be fair.
The "sex scenes" are way less graphic than today and the scenes where Jamie spoke about the Duke wanting to diddle him made me LOL! It's more tasteful than romances today, and I'm going to relish the next book and enjoy the sweetness and the lessons about life that I was reminded of. Anyone who was offended by this content is hiding under a rock when it comes to romance!
Can't say more than that without spoiling it all, just enjoy the ride. It's NOT a girlie ride, but it's a damn fine ride! MUCH PROPS to the author. Looking back on that time? You made something special!
FYI? The narrator is awesome. She just is. Awesome!

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. Unfortunately other reviews made me wait too long.
Revisado: 07-28-19
I should have known better. This is the Warden at her best. I'm a rabid fan of the BDB and the spin off's, which means I also love Jim Frangione. This book was SO much more vibrant because of the multiple narrators. It drew my attention to it more. I know Jim Frangione's voice but it didn't make me think BDB: Which he wholly narrates PERFECTLY. He was amazing!
I loved the story, it had enough of the firefighting to keep me interested but not overblown. The sex is NOT overstated for a romance novel. The twist at the end was marvelous and the entire book was J.R. Ward. Anne overcame her problem in a very well thought out and well timed manner.
Character and plot developement was PERFECTLY timed.
Crisis and conflict was also perfectly well done. Ward does not sink into too much drama that it gets depressing. The rollercoaster ride is perfectly constructed.
I waited and waited to buy this book, I got sucked into the poor reviews and it made me think that this book was not what I would like. I was wrong. This is the epitome of romance, suspense and mystery. She did it again. The amazing thing about her writing? She doesn't fall into the pithy construct of a typical romance. She gives us a story that we can believe while we enjoy it, without writhing in the embarrassment of a 70 page seduction.
I love Soot, I don't love Tom. I hope he redeems himself in more stories because I want him to not be his father.
But Anne and Danny? Were AMAZING.
Once again, thank you J.R. Ward for the gift you give us with your stories. They accompany me through my work day and it's wicked awesome. Write faster, no one compares to you.

I was listening and listening and waiting for the punch line. When it came: it blew me over. Well played Sir! Well played. While some of the earlier prose made me wonder if I wanted to buy into the story: it was good enough to give a pass. I am SO happy I did. I don't know how or why you built this story: but (again) Well Played.

Moves faster than the movie "Speed"!
Revisado: 11-13-17
I don’t know who made the decision to use a full cast of narrators in Stewart Raffill’s “Rage”, but it was brilliant. I chose this book for download because I needed a change from the normal genres I listen too. After I started reading this book? At about minute 10, I realized it was going to be something different than what I am used to. I started researching the author because the dramatic tension I was experiencing was surreal.
I found out he wrote and produced Passenger 57, which is the type of hi-excitement and fast moving action thriller that I love to watch. It immediately made sense of why this book is such a fantastic read! If you love rollercoaster reading, you will love this story. What amazed me though, it that a movie writer could make a –book- into a movie within itself to this extent. I am reminded of Nelson De Mille, and frankly, that’s a level few can accomplish.
The plots twist at the end of the book? Bravo Stewart, BRAVO! You are a brave author, you took that shot, not knowing how people would react. You went where few people would go and I cheered at it. In fact, I was so fulfilled? I told 10 friends of mine to get this book on Audible and they also loved it.
I’m really happy I didn’t read this as a book. I would have been involved in the speed of the story and I would have read through it and missed things. The audio book is still so fast, but it controls the read, so I get to experience every word.
I cannot WAIT for Raffill's nxt book. This was amazing!

Not sure if Dean Cole has a competitor in Sci-Fi
Revisado: 08-21-17
What did you love best about Sector 64 Box Set?
First off, I have to say I was totally blown away by his latest book, Solitude. That being said, I immediately bought the boxed set of this series because that man can write stuff that I can LOVE! Sector 64 is different though. It's really good, do not get me wrong, but it is not up to the caliber of Solitude. That means it is STILL an awesome story though. Dean's mind takes you places that you couldn't have even imagined, much less developed into a compelling alien story. The best part of Sector 64 was the relationship between Jake and Sandra. You couldn't help but love these two, and want them to live through all that is coming at them, and Dean has a healthy dose of funny that makes them SO real!
What did you like best about this story?
I can tell the author is a science fiction nut like me. Star Trek, Star Wars, some people just dream of space and the infinite possibilities there. He not only has a great imagination, but his attention to detail in describing the piloting motions, and the way three men interract with each other shows two different dimensions to his personality that are so varied, and pull you in even deeper to the story. In the beginning, he makes your heart break because of what happens, the humanity in that... being pushed across paper first, then into an audio experience is amazing. Many authors can do it, but Dean makes it seems easy, and it cannot possibly be, not many people can make me gasp and have tears falling form my eyes.
What does Mike Ortego bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Mike Ortego is a good narrator. He is not my number one, but I can't say anything negative about him, we all have our favorites. He has the right talent and seems to love what he does. He just is not my favorite, takes nothing away from him though.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It was, but I couldn't. It was 22 hours long because I bought the boxed set. I have to sleep at least 6 hours when I work, or I am a road hazard :p
Any additional comments?
Yes, in fact, there is. While I did not love this book to the extent I loved Solitude, it's only because it WASN'T Solitude. This is a solid, stand up sci-fi book that stands on it's own and it's my fault I read them in the wrong order. This author is the next amazing writer in the book business. In my opinion, his publisher neds to make sure he gets the right narrators for audible users so that his words are out there in the best possible light. These are not just fun reads. They are fun reads that make your world feel different. They change you. I can't wait for more.

Absolutely blown away! Rarely drawn in so fast !
Revisado: 08-18-17
If you could sum up Solitude in three words, what would they be?
Captivating, Enthralling, Compelling.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I cannot choose between Vaughn or Angela. They both are fascinating characters, well developed and both deeply capture you from the beginning of the book all the way through to the end.
What does R.C. Bray and Julia Whelan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
On their own, each narrator is amazing. Both are exremely well suited for narrating audiobooks, in fact I chose this book because of 1. the reviews and 2. R.C.Bray who has narrated many books that I love. However, Julia brings a strong and encapsulating read in both male and female voices. I would have listened to these two read the dictionary and been happy to listen all day.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It was and I did. From the moment I woke up through my work day and then at home when I was done. I couldn't listen in the shower.
Any additional comments?
I am eagerly anticipating book two of this series. I almost wish I hadn't read this until it was out, because now I have to wait too long for the rest of the story. Dean M. Cole has a rabid new fan. I'm going to grab his other series and start it right now!
