Historia
Before coming to Greece, Candy knew that she wanted to get thicker and curvier for sure. She was tired of being the little petite girl she had always been and she loved the idea of having a huge round a--, and seeing her boobs get bigger, and maybe exploring her fantasies with her soon to be husband more frequently, but now she was feeling something entirely different. The feeling of being stuffed to the brim and eating without a care in the world made her feel so good she was almost aroused.

Another well written gem of this genre with amazing narration. If only the real life story on which it's based had the same ending!

Hi, it's Annalisa again. Believe it or not I'm actually in the gym. Yeah...(sigh) I know it took me a while to motivate myself, but I’m here now and that’s what counts...God I can’t believe I’m saying that. It’s early afternoon on a Monday, and I thought it would be good to start the week out right and get...maybe (pant) a little exercise, especially with the way Declan’s been pampering me lately…(gasp, pant) which I am not complaining about by the way.

Loved this series, very well written and exciting if you like this type of thing. I have to mention the voice actor, Katrina Medina, she totally stuns in this with every sexy detail pitch perfect!

truly painful
Revisado: 03-12-19
I can't accurately critic this book as I couldn't make it to the end. The number of the children raped and emotionally abused goes up as the book trudges on and it's all too disturbing to tolerate.

Pretty good, middle of the road listen. Nothing to blow you away but a pleasant time can be had hanging with this story.

Historia
Working on the case, LAPD detective Harry Bosch is reminded of the primal police rule he learned long ago: Don't look for the facts, but the glue that holds them together. Soon Harry's making some very dangerous connections, starting with a dead cop and leading to a bloody string of murders that wind from Hollywood Boulevard to the back alleys south of the border.

Came off really flat for me
Revisado: 11-30-17
First off I'm not that young, but this book seemed really dated to me. The writing style and manner of characters seemed more like it was from 1973 than 1993. Don't get me wrong, I can be nostalgic for the ways of the past, but this book just came off as naive and boring. The story didn't really hook me and the writing and characters seemed flat and uninteresting.

Dark in all the right ways, a slow-burn gem
Revisado: 08-08-16
This one hit all the right notes for me. Foremost, I think it does a great job creating mood, which is very import to me with regards to this type of story. I think it particularly hits home for those who grew up in the Midwest or at least a place where the winters are cold, dark and long. The slow burn pacing really works here too.

Too John Wayne for me...
Revisado: 06-14-16
Too John Wayne for me, English Spy exists in a world were everything is black and white and good and evil are clear cut and without nuance. This is a big turnoff for me as this is not way the world I experience, works. This book is a fantasy for those who think the solution to violence has easy answers... those answers being more violence in all cases. Relatedly, the author makes a deliberate effort to frame things through a right wing world lens. Not really interested in reading his thinly veiled and fearful rants about how the world is spinning out of control and it's all Obama's fault. It's just insipid, boring and predictable. I know LeCarre can be left leaning at times, but at least you're left with something though provoking.
All in all, what your left with here is an ultimately uninteresting spy novel. The reader, George Guidall is always good though.

Twenty years ago, Bill Bryson went on a trip around Britain to discover and celebrate that green and pleasant land. The result was Notes from a Small Island, a true classic and one of the bestselling travel books ever written. Now he has traveled about Britain again, by bus and train and rental car and on foot, to see what has changed—and what hasn’t.

Okay, but lots of complaining
Revisado: 02-23-16
As others have said, spends half of the book complaining about things. As someone considering a trip to Britain, it made me think it would just not be worth the hassle. Too much traffic, all the good stuff is gone, according to Bryson. Why travel if you hate it so much?

On a damp October night, beautiful young Ashley Cordova is found dead in an abandoned warehouse in lower Manhattan. Fun Book
Revisado: 02-04-15
Seems this book gets a lot of bad reviews by readers based on the apparent over-hyped release of the book and its author in general. I would ignore that and take the book for what it is, a fun, dark-thriller that has a lot of horror-like notes to it. Some consider it too long but I thought the plot had enough depth and complexity to warrant the length. This book was intriguing from beginning to end, I thought, and great entertainment. If you enjoy a slow-burn, spooky tale, (and have some time) I think you would enjoy it.
If you want to look at negatives, I will say the main character is sometimes an a-hole and often quite annoying, spiting out intended-to-be-funny-but-not, smart-ass quips. Also he seems to have a sneering tone toward other minor characters who happen to annoy him, usually for the way they look or way they live their lives. The narration is okay, I have heard so many amazing talents doing audio books. But this one is mediocre.
