RC Bray has done such an excellent job performing the Expeditionary Force series. This ensemble performance was awful. The sound was uneven. The background noises were distracting and annoying. Since my first experience with this series, I could hardly wait for the next book. But maybe the turnaround is too quick. This “bookette” seemed like it was slammed together really fast just to get something out. I’m hopeful the next adventure with Skippy will be back to the original standard of writing and narration.

Everyone knows an Ove. The irascible old grump who knows everything about everything. But not everyone learns to love an Ove. This story makes the reader laugh out loud at life's interference with death, and makes the reader cheer for the interferences that keep Ove with us. The various characters are so well developed and diverse. Each brings a wonderful quirk to the story. George Newbern's excellent reading enhanced my complete enjoyment of this story. I can't think of anyone who would not love this book.

An inspirational story about how grit, tenacity and hard work bring success in both athletics and personal lives. Beautifully woven into the world history of the time, the boys' stories lend a greater understanding to a baby boomer who really has no personal experience with the Great Depression or World War II. A fascinating way to combine important history with riveting story telling.

Would you listen to The Winner again? Why?

This was an interesting story with a totally different story line that the usual Baldacci. It was fun and interesting.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I kept wondering who it was - and did not guess until the story told who it was.

What about Frances Cassidy’s performance did you like?

Frances Cassidy is a good performer who made all the characters distinct and believable.
