Historia
Her name is Alicia. She was 13 when she began saving the lives of people she did not know - while fleeing the Nazis through war-ravaged Poland. Her family cruelly wrenched from her, Alicia rescued other Jews from the Gestapo, led them to safe hideouts, and lent them her courage and hope. Even the sight of her mother’s brutal murder could not quash this remarkable child’s faith in human goodness - or her determination to prevail against overwhelming odds. After the war, Alicia continued to risk her life, leading Polish Jews on an underground route to freedom in Palestine.

ABSOLUTE MUST!!
Revisado: 10-28-22
A reminder that we cannot ERASE history, we must learn from it. This story was not written to be a love story, a romantic tragedy, or a piece of fiction. It is an HONEST representation of how one young Jewish girl grew up, lost her childhood & her family during one of the most horrific times in European history. The best part is this is written BY Alicia, in her words from her memories. She was courageous not because she wanted to be but because she HAD to be. Please read this story for yourself, to your kids, to your grandkids. This also would be an excellent book club read and discussion.

Storyline was good, Narration was bad
Revisado: 06-10-22
Narration had weird pauses that interupted the continuity of the story. I recommend you read the book itself.

Historia
From July 10, 1943, the date of the Allied landing in Sicily, to May 8, 1945, when victory in Europe was declared - the entire time it took to liberate Europe - no regiment saw more action, and no single platoon, company, or battalion endured worse, than the ones commanded by Felix Sparks, who had entered the war as a greenhorn second lieutenant of the 157th "Eager for Duty" Infantry Regiment of the 45th "Thunderbird" Division. Sparks and his fellow Thunderbirds fought longest and hardest to defeat Hitler.

Try to listen and Not cry
Revisado: 07-23-21
The only thing I can say is I should have asked my grandfather more questions than I did. Laverne Peterson was a paratrooper on D-Day. he got stuck in a tree, cut himself down, broke his leg on the fall, took German fire to a grenade on his belt, which he survived. He was a POW held in a French barn. He survived only because his captors allowed a US Medic tend to his wounds. He was left to die when the Germans fled ahead of the Allies swooping through. He was in am English hospital for many months, was released and continued his fight in Germany. God Bless Those men and families who gave all that they had for freedoms we often take for granted.

Historia
Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his Black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?

considering the current times and the push for socialism mentality in the US, this book gives the perspective of the ease of which a small group can take over a nation without much resistance when everyone turns a blind eye.
