This is book two in the series. Interesting world building. I'm going to continue a romance series past the first romance cause I just have to know more about the world.

great reimagining of Beauty and the Beast

This is a first person narrative, well read and full of interesting world building. This is a fantasy setting with dragons and low magic. There is child abuse and sexual assault as backstory. It is never on the page but it is discussed. I like how it is handled and how the story works towards hope and healing.

strange and intriguing

it's a dark polyamorus romance. The cast are born into The Company- a secret group of wealthy elites who rum the world from the shadows. very heavy on internal monologues and focused on the relationships. if you wanted a spy thriller this is not the book for you

if you like romance, men with an inner beast to be tamed and women who find their own inner strength then give this a listen. it also uses greek mythology very well. plenty of action and plot

pretty good re telling of beauty and the beast. he is a warrior elf in this one and very sexy. this is a mated at first sniff type story. the world building is interesting (I love get books) interested to see where things go

very Yaoi and it feels so good!

so I really enjoyed this book. it's a Romance unlike the first book which does the set up for the world. I love that it's a big muscle man and a slim beautiful man falling in love! it's also nice to watch them not realize how they truly feel but watch them act on the feelings of love for each other.
the palace intrigue is pretty good. it's not super shocking or in depth but is interesting and adds to the romance!

Good Palace intrigue

This book does have sexually explicit scenes and abuse. The author does a good job not romanticizing these events. It is depicted as messed up parts of a decadent culture. The abuse is part of the narrative and not a one off side thing. There is a plot featuring palace intrigue and it is well written. If you are looking for quick smut this is not the book. Also, this is not a Romance. It follows a disgraced prince as he navigates his way through life as the slave of a dark prince.
I'm excited to read the next book. the plot is compelling and I'm interested in how the prince and his slave become lovers cause right now, I can't see that happening.

well done retelling!

it's a soft and quiet retelling. not much action but if you love people falling in love then this has three sweet romances.

I could have gone for more emotional reading from the performer but it works well enough to evoke the sorrow and melancholy of the beast.

overall I enjoyed it. it has memorable scenes and fleshes out the original (not the Disney) version of the fairytale.

pretty good read

It's the Hunger Games meets the Bachelorette! It's a fun ride that gives you some sweet romance, a plot twist that I kinda saw coming but I second guessed myself the whole time, and some funny or scary action sequences that got very violent at times. There is some torture. I feel it is handled well. It lets you feel the fear and sorrow without being overly descriptive (though it does give ba good description) or revelling in the gore.
I was miffed that the book doesn't have a proper ending. I understand it is supposed to be a series but a book should feel like it is wrapping up and setting up the next book. This one abruptly ends as though publishing cut her book in half mid chapter!
Would recommend if you want a romance fantasy without the problematic elements of many Harlequins were the man becomes over bearing and stokery. Our lovers are real people who respect and honor each other.
