Very solid!
Revisado: 04-04-25
Performance is good, voices are distinct and memorable, line delivery is generally good without being overwrought. The dialogue is equal parts typical Warhammer bravado and genuinely interesting stuff, only one or two weak sections. The story is very intriguing, leaves you wanting more. A solid book, and a very solid Warhammer book.

Historia
On the fringes of the Cicatrix Maledictum, the Black Templars of the Second Dorean Crusade tear through the void to join the crusade fleet on the sands of Tempest – an ancient, storied shrine world. Assailed by the murderous warbands of the Blood God, the crusade has come to burn the planet clean of the Ruinous Powers once and for all. But when a violent warp storm scatters the fleet, the Dauntless Honour is left battered and alone in the void. Besieged by doubt, Castellan Emeric and his brothers must cling to their faith and carve a way to Tempest.

a middling story which would have been served better as a novella.

Honestly boring
Revisado: 03-29-25
Performance was competent but flat, all the characters sounded mostly the same. The delivery was steady to the point of a metronome, making the plot drag a little more than it already did. The story was very direct, predictable, but not even in a satisfying way. Dialogue was decent but not memorable. Villain was the most interesting character, he deserved way more play. Did not feel worth the listen unless you’re a huge fan of one of the factions involved.

Dark and Cerebral
Revisado: 02-25-25
Definitely not what you’re used to with a 40k book. Slow burning, tense, constantly confused but curious about what you’re seeing and why. Rich character development, easily the best Emma Gregory performance, aided by excellent writing. Can’t give too much away, please give this a listen as a pallet cleanser, if nothing else.

Painfully Average
Revisado: 02-18-25
Story and character development is weak, conclusion is satisfying with one unorthodox twist. Dialogue is often stiff or just plain goofy, action scenes are competently written but not exactly electrifying, Nothing here makes Val more interesting or make you feel like you’ve come away knowing more about her than before. The voice performance saved this listen for me, goofy lines delivered with deserved ham.

Horus’ armada gathers, and he has defeated all enemies sent against him, even the Emperor’s own executioner. One barrier remains before he can strike for Terra and lay waste to the Emperor’s dream. The Beta-Garmon system occupies the most direct and only viable route to the Solar System and Terra. To break it, Horus assembles a war host of incredible proportions and Titans in untold numbers. To lose here is to lose the war, and Horus has no intention of turning back. But the Imperium understands the importance of Beta-Garmon too.

Unto the Hunt!
Revisado: 02-13-25
The superior of the two titan books on here. Writing is weighty and pacing healthy. Characters are distinct and memorable. Performance is solid as always. One or two voice choice are questionable. You’ll know it when you hear it. Action is exquisite, each battle is unique and memorable. A good book even if you’re not a titan fan. Would highly recommend.

First Abnett book, very satisfied. Writing flows well, dialogue is natural. Many plotlines, but well organized, great payoff for most. Combat scenes written in a way that’s easy to follow and exciting. Voice performance is very solid. Highly suggested to all 40k fans.

Just got into warhammer audiobooks, if you’re worn out on the usual space marine fare, this is where you should listen next! Gripping story, punchy action, and a superb performance from the va. If you love Knights like I do, or assassins, this is the book for you!
