Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Excellent narrator and production
Revisado: 04-09-25
Besides a great story and near perfect writing, the narrator and production make this such a fun, easy listen. Such a good book with just the right amount of blended science and fiction.

On my library for years, finally listened and wow!
Revisado: 01-28-23
I ran out of new books and finally got around to listening to this. I totally forgot it was unscripted. Like other reviewers, I thought it was scripted because the story flows and makes perfect (albeit absurd) sense. Many LOL moments, and it has Paul F Tompkins.

Same characters as the first, except the addition of Lemony. I liked it though and it fits with the theme of the first. If you want to know more about what happens post-kitty, this is a great addition.

A good mix of tech, fighting, futurism, & mystery
Revisado: 07-31-19
I liked this from the beginning to the end. Got this one with a Credit and just bought the second in the series on sale. Yay!
Its a really good book. Maybe not for total non-tech people but if you know some general science and sci-fi you're good to go. I like that it's actually all plausible science. Way off in the future, but plausible.

Is Larry Correia a middle schooler?
Revisado: 07-15-19
If my 10 year old watched Fox News and then wrote a sci-fi book, this might be it. Very lame jokes and a story that goes nowhere. Are all of his books like this?

Historia
Dale Maharidge’s father, like many World War II veterans, never talked about “the good war”. There was just one clue to his dad’s experience as a US Marine - a portrait with a close friend that hung permanently in their home. In The Dead Drink First, Dale, now a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, recounts his 18-year quest to find and repatriate the missing remains of his dad’s buddy, Herman Walter Mulligan, 73 years after he was killed in action.
