Too many climaxes and Captain Ahabs
Revisado: 11-21-19
While I was not a fan of the Main Character I was enjoying the book until about the last quarter of the book where the authors had several ideas for an ending and instead picking one they decided to string them into one long ending that dragged until I found myself growing bored with each new peril.
It was also at this point several characters turned Captain Ahab and got their Moby Dick on and decided to no longer see reason and act crazy.

Historia
Father of cyberpunk William Gibson’s original script for Alien III, written in 1987 as a sequel to Aliens, never made it to our screens, although it went on to achieve cult status among fans as the third instalment that might have been after being leaked online. This terrifying, cinematic multicast dramatisation - directed by the multi-award-winning Dirk Maggs - is the chance to experience William Gibson’s untold story and its terrifying, claustrophobic and dark encounters between humans and aliens, as a completely immersive audio experience.

What should have been
Revisado: 08-06-19
This would have been a far more interesting movie than Prison Planet Ripley vs. the rabid alien dog movie that we got. The main negative that I had here is that it is a dramatization. Hearing a full cast of people speaking their lines is great however outside of Hicks, Bishop and Newt I found myself several times wondering who was speaking. I also narration would have helped as well since a few action sequences went pretty much - 'Look Out!' aargh <blood splatter sound effect> 'Oh my God.' All in all enjoyable if confusing at time.

Historia
Alvin woke in a room that was not his, to discover that he had died and his brain had been bargained off cheaply to pay off someone else’s debt. It did not sit well with him. It didn’t surprise him that even in death, people were still using him for their own purposes. He had never exactly been a good guy, but everyone had their breaking point, and he had found his. The bastards in charge had uploaded his mind into a virtual death game. The whole world could now pay to see him play it and probably die. Regardless, he was not about to wait for death to come for him.

Good story ruined by bad Penthouse Forum letters
Revisado: 03-27-19
The first 2/3rds of this book was interesting and wanted to keep listening then the sex scenes started showing up. Now I don't mind sex scenes in books however I found them to be boring and lackluster with dialogue from a cheesy low budget S/M porno movie. Even if it had been one or two scenes it would not have ruined the book however it felt like every other chapter had to have Alvin and Gothy doing it. This left me annoyed and wishing they would get back to the story.
Another thing that really annoyed me was at the end of the book. The come out in their new outfits and are suppose to look villainous and everyone steps back in fear of them. She sounded like a teen hoping to sneak in to a night club running a bondage night and him in his zombie baseball cap, zombie t-shirt, duster, ripped up jeans and combat boots more sounded like someone you would find a comic book shop then inspiring fear in the masses. To be fair I did skip mentioning the body armor both have mostly because when he described Gothy's outfit and how the corset made her breasts looked it made me believe that the body armor disappears under the clothing through video game magic.

Had a lot of promisebut the Narration lost me
Revisado: 12-17-18
The premise was intriguing however just never got into the characters and the way the narrator pronounced some of the words grated on my nerves. I doubt I will continue with the series and if I do it will be in ebook format.

First 2 stories great but the third got annoying
Revisado: 11-07-18
I love the characters and the story lines are good. However the third book, which did have the best mystery of the three, became annoying with all their talk about their intimacy in the bath tub and other places (except the balcony which was Harper's fantasy), Jared becoming so needy it started to grate and discussion of his nipples as a running gag. Also Harper winding up being the quasi-damsel in distress at the end of each of the books with Jared foaming at the mouth threatening to kill the murder is getting old too. I might give book four a chance but I definitely need to give it a little time before I do.

Historia
My name is Amelia Gray. I'm a cemetery restorer who sees ghosts. In order to protect myself from the parasitic nature of the dead, I've always held fast to these rules passed down from my father…until now. Detective John Devlin needs my help to find a killer, but he is haunted by ghosts who shadow his every move. To warn him would be to invite them into my life. I've vowed to keep my distance, but the pull of his magnetism grows ever stronger even as the headstone symbols lead me closer to truth and to the gossamer veil that separates this world from the next.

Great characters and story outdated tech
Revisado: 10-25-18
I loved this book and plan on continuing the series. The characters were likable and felt like real people with real reactions to situations. The story was interesting and kept me guessing to the end on the motives for the murders. My biggest complaint was that twice in the book Amelia needs to light her way, once she uses the screen on her phone which I would think she would more than likely have a smart phone with a built in flashlight in case she needed to take a quick picture and didn't want to get out her digital camera. The second is she has a flashlight she drops and breaks the glass on it which destroys the flashlight. I mean if I was an archeologist/graveyard restorer I think I would want LED flashlights or Maglite brand flashlight for my work especially when I might find rattlesnakes in the mausoleums I am restoring. I know it is a bit of nitpicking however it was enough to pull me out of the story and the desired creepy trapped in the dark feeling the author was going for was lost on me.

Annoying Protagonist and a flimsy mystery
Revisado: 10-22-18
I got this book as part of the romance series, I am not sure why it was there but glad I didn't pay for this book.
Sloane was unlikable. I wanted to like her but she came off as Captain Ahab from Moby Dick with her obsessions for Michael who even the authors point she built up into the perfect man in her mind and her want of a perfect wedding. And she seemed egotistical where she kept stating this was "her case." Yes because screw the FBI, Interpol or any law enforcement agency when you are dealing with what appears to be a serial killer's den you need a real estate agent.
The mystery was so transparent that the only mystery it held was why Sloane didn't have her phone on her when she got into trouble. The twist I pretty much knew was going to the twist from the beginning of the book.

I began to suspect something was wrong with the gothic building when its family fled in the middle of the night, the children screaming, the mother crying. They never came back to pack up their furniture. A new occupant, Anna, has just moved in. I paid her a visit to warn her about the building. I didn't expect us to become friends, but we did. And now that Marwick House is waking up, she's asked me to stay with her. I never intended to become involved with the building or its vengeful, dead inhabitant. But now I have to save Anna.

Started out great went bad then ended okay
Revisado: 10-12-18
The first 2/3 of the book I loved. A good October novel however then it ran off the rails with the ghost being able to control everyone over the entire neighborhood until for some reason or main character struggled out of the ghost's control. However if she had followed the ghost's one plan that would have broken "the loop" so it really made no sense. Finally I liked how the book ended but by then my love for the book ha soured to the point that I wished I hadn't invested my time in the book

Should be just one book and Misleading titles
Revisado: 10-12-18
I have gone through the full series and really liked it though I think it should be just one book not broken into three pieces like this. They are not long books and could have some parts shortened a bit. For example and small spoiler: ** Her continued ponderings if he really loves or the estate more as he keeps stating that he is willing to be enchanted again if it means being with her. That part dragged.** The other thing that threw me in actually a good way was that with Titles like Depravity I was expecting a far more dark and gritty adult fairy tale while it is more your standard fairy tale romance. That being said I will warn listeners that these books do touch on the subject of attempted rape. So listen at your own risk.

Well two stars means its okay and it was for me
Revisado: 09-13-18
I thought I would love this book and while I did not hate it I just found it lacking. This felt like it should have been a second book in the series because we keep being referred to things that happened previously like a poltergeist trying to eat her children which I would like to know more about as well as background into how the relationship between Abby and her Viking started because from how I interrupted it the story went something like my husband who was my childhood sweetheart and father of my three children got cancer and died so I took up job as a janitor at a haunted tea house and met him instantly falling in love. Which for me made Abby kind of a cold character and think that the author would have been better to have the husband decide he couldn't handle it and run off, it would have framed the story better. Also the characters seemed pretty flexible on moral issue from at once stating "I will never be anyone's assassin" to "You want us to be your executioners well it is a vampire so okay." So in the end while I don't want to return it and if they put the next in the series on sale cheap I might entertain the idea of picking it up I just can't say that this is a great book just okay.
