Revisado: 09-17-24
I’ve really enjoyed this series so far. The main character is engaging and the criminal isn’t obvious. I also really like the narrator. I could listen to her all day.

Historia
With our family's legacy, Meyers B&B, in the flailing hands of me, Sam Meyers, and my sister, Wynne, we're determined to revive the place. We've started a series of blind-date cooking classes and taken on our first boarder. Granddad is even now rolling in his grave. Signed up for the class is our new guest, Aaron Saunders, a Californian transplant who's distractingly handsome and clearly up to no good. I can't quite figure him out. He blew into town and has been relentless in his search for...something.

I had a difficult time figuring out who was talking. I didn’t have that problem with the original narrator.

Historia
Frances Wynn, the American-born Countess of Harleigh, enjoys more freedom as a widow than she did as a wife. After an obligatory year spent mourning her philandering husband, Reggie, she puts aside her drab black gowns, leaving the countryside and her money-grubbing in-laws behind. With her young daughter in tow, Frances rents a home in Belgravia and prepares to welcome her sister, Lily, arriving from New York - for her first London season.

Couldn't finish because of narration
Revisado: 09-19-21
I have discovered that I can't tolerate a narrator that makes every sentence sound like a question. The book was very promising but I just couldn't listen any longer. If this type of narration doesn't bother you I'd give this book a chance. Note: my overall and story ratings are average because I couldn't finish the book. I only got through about 2 chapters. I might consider getting the kindle version and read it instead.

Couldn't make it throug
Revisado: 11-20-20
I ended up returning this collection before even finishing the first book. I couldn't figure out why these two were attracted to each other and the story wasn't fleshed out. I have a pretty high tolerance for easy reads and simple stories. I don't know exactly why I had such a difficult time with this one in particular. There were lots of 5 star reviews but I have to agree with most of the one star reviews.

Historia
Growing up in a small town in Georgia hasn't prepared him for the more liberal life of a student at the university in Athens. Add to that the teachings of his parents and his church, and you have one shy young man who feels out of his depth. Working on his daddy's farm hasn't given him any chance of a social life, certainly not one like the clubs of Atlanta have to offer. Not that Tommy feels comfortable when he gets to sample it - Momma's lectures still ring loudly inside his head.

Narrators make the difference
Revisado: 07-26-19
I didn’t make its through the book. The characters have southern accents and Gregory can’t do them. He also hasn’t a very stilted cadence to his reading. I honestly don’t know if the book is good or not . I would recommend buying the kindle version not the audible version if it sounds interesting to you.

Too many characters with all the same voice.
Revisado: 03-03-19
The narrator had the same voice throughout. POV would change without any notification so it was difficult to follow. The story itself Was good but the narration was poor. I don’t know how the book was separated in the print version. Hopefully there was at least a paragraph break when POV changed.

Revisado: 12-18-14
It was funny at times but I didn't like that it was from the dogs point of view. I kept feeling like I was missing half of the story. I can see how some people would really like it though. I didn't finish it. Being returned.

Bothered by narrator, didn't finish the book
Revisado: 12-18-14
I think perhaps I was used to Sean Crisden reading for this series. I was bothered by the narrator for some reason. I returned the book before finishing the first chapter so my rating of the story and overall are not necessarily accurate. I have others in my library that are narrated by the same person. I bought them all during the sale. I'm hoping I like the narrator if he is reading for a series I haven't listened to before. :(

I didn't know it was a fantasy tale
Revisado: 07-01-14
I'm not interested in fantasy. It might have been a good book but I can't get past that. Unfortunately I have tried to return it through Audible but for some reason, they won't take it back. I gave the narrator 3 stars because I really have no opinion. I couldn't get through the book.

Could have been better.
Revisado: 04-05-13
There are two main characters in this book but the narrator does not change his voice for them or the other few minor characters. I would have to go back to make sure the dialogue was for the correct character. Other than being annoying to listen to, I genuinely enjoyed the story.
