The Drama is Better Than the Book

I watched this Korean drama on Netflix, and it was very good to me. In fact, I have watched it 2 times to pick up things I may have missed the first time. So, you can imagine my disappointment in listening to the book. I realized the drama was "based" on this book, but I would have to say "loosely" based on this book. In fact, the only similarities are the NM Corporation. I read a review of this book in which the reviewer said the book was much better than the drama, but I have to respectfully disagree. This novel leaves me confused in the end. A lot of people said they did not like the ending of the K drama. The novel just stopped with no ending at all.

Sex, Murder, and a Double Latte

This was an interesting listen. I liked the story and the characters, mostly. They were all a little self-centered but I suppose that is how people are these days. I do like that the main female character was pretty strong and stood up for her rights. Her friends were pretty cool and funny. The main male character I can not decide if I like him or not. I am afraid that some of that is due to reading previews for the rest of the books in the series. Their relationship is pretty messed up. They both thought each other were murders. That is not a good base for any relationship. Knowing in the latest book he turns out to be a cheater does not endure him to me. The mystery was interesting but I had figured out who the killer was around the middle of the book. That is not unusual though I can usually figure out the killer early in the books. I am more surprised if I can not figure the person out before the end. I did find this book to be an enjoyable distraction. I have been reading some heavy thrillers so this was a nice change of pace.

I love Kay Hooper's books,especially the Bishop series. This book was good but the ending was a little hurried and incomplete in my opinion.

What does Elizabeth Michaels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I always like her voice though others complain. She sounds upbeat.

Yes I got angry at Abby's character in this book. She was over the top ( like with the presents at V-day), she was sulky, bratty, and to top matters off she was disloyal to Dutch. I found it interesting that it took Abby & Dutch forever to get physical but it happens in about 2 days in this book. It made me look at Abb's differently but then again we all make mistakes and are subject to acting "human".

Who was your favorite character and why?

Cat always cracks me up with her way over the top ways. I know I am not obeying the rules but I also loved Nora because her strength and grit are a surprise and Foxy because she seemed like some kind of character :-)
