Couldnt care
Revisado: 08-04-24
Seems like a lot of talk about nothing. It seemed to undo the origional stories core themes with attempts to illustrate magical mechanics. I love Kel Kade.. Id buy the book a second time if there was a big red button, but after 5 chapters i had to stop listening to the complaining. If you like books about cry babies.. this is your thing.

roller coaster of disappointment
Revisado: 03-24-23
it is a chore to care about what's going on and which character is even speaking. some good lines and a plot is abandoned. I've had a collection of books by this author for about a year I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be drinking or need to go online to get a character list. the author is amazing at stringing words together, I just find it hard to believe it will ever be woven into a story

gay pedophilia
Revisado: 10-03-22
other than in being a real-time addition during a masturbation session, there seem to be no point as to why there was so much underage sex. the point was Mystic Beauty in boy fucking, nothing else. other than that I thought the story was pretty good but it needs to be repeated that this is child pedophilia fantasy that unfortunately takes away from the other amazing themes.
if there was a proper category it would be a fine story as is, but there is no such category that tells you Mystic references we're going to be long and drawn out across the boy's ass. there is real world historical things to compare to but that absolutely should be told upfront and in clear modern languages.
I really want to find good African fantasy stories that aren't about beautifying child molestation

Kel Kade is a badass author
Revisado: 05-30-22
he clarifies things from the first book without coming across as distracted from previous ideas. Mysteries are not forgotten and are well handled.
the gods are less intelligent than The Mortals and I find that very fascinating. the explanation on Sewells the higher powers that work made listening to the moron dialogue of the gods engaging because you know that the author isn't just slapping things on the page.
there was a lack of being able to get imagery of the scenery, but it is an exceptional kind of story.
also importantly the love interest he's not a constant whiner. I have no idea why many fantasy authors think that it's a good quality in a female to be constantly stereotypically menstruating, so I appreciate all of the situations in which the females have composure and command of reason at a higher average than other stories.
I hope in the next book he just bones her and they completely focus on the qualities of saving lives and defeating gods. personally I would have preferred that the reaper banged everyone inside a Time bubble but it just was described as "bam-bam-bam happened " keep it classy, and never expressed any jealousy or any other insecurities.
an entire nation that equivalent to the population of another continent should not amount to less than Millions of soldiers. I understand in fantasy scaling can be difficult to manage but it's not impossible. I love so much of this author's writing in every book because of how brilliant the handling of some ideas are. however I cannot tell if there is 10,000 100,000 or 200 good guys. I totally respect how the author can accidentally write himself in a corner but I am hopeful he can write himself out of it in the next book.

Historia
How did a libertine who lacks even the most basic knowledge of the Christian faith win 81 percent of the white evangelical vote in 2016? And why have white evangelicals become a presidential reprobate's staunchest supporters? Jesus and John Wayne is a sweeping account of the last 75 years of white evangelicalism, showing how American evangelicals have worked for decades to replace the Jesus of the Gospels with an idol of rugged masculinity and Christian nationalism.

Revisado: 01-09-22
a fever dream of ridicule. I can't help but mimic the haphazard placement a sentences that this book performs. it was as if somebody managed to take a gut reaction and write several essays on it and then slapped it together. it is not well researched or well-thought-out; it's merely a collection of facts that has already been pre-packaged for TV audiences. this book is not a in-depth analysis as it attempted to suggest. the word criticism is too valuable to use in describing the near plagiarism of the body of this work.

self-help book
Revisado: 04-13-21
it's a steady stream of pushing ideas together to imply that industry growth and job markets always increase with the development of automation. does not acknowledge centralization of ownership and the very similar to socialist economic causalities.
this book plays on confirmation bias. it does not acknowledge how automation rapidly increasing job opportunities could lead to an inverse effect at a critical point in the technological development.
there's also a failure to acknowledge where automation can be in fact prohibited. overlooking as well how mixed economies AR the true success story. free market, capitalism, socialism, all ingredients of a mixed economy. any of these left unchecked will consume itself to death.
this is more of a self-help book too emotionally soothe adoption of Automation and artificial intelligence which in all honesty is not a bad thing, am I only fought this book for what it leaves out.
if you're a business owner than I highly encourage Frugal but regular integration of new technologies. human optimization rather than a machine money tree. stabilize your wealth by having a well-rounded business , rather than trying to just keep up. there's so much to be said. but if you were trying to maximize your profits and you wouldn't have been reading this book to begin with.

sleepy voice acting but great addition to storylin
Revisado: 12-08-20
despite the praise, the voice acting is slow and seems often the wrong mood / emotions.
when you question if you should try cocain for the first time to get through the audio book... its probably best to stop and leave a review. 1.15x speed seems to remove some of the sleepyness. i think the writing and lack of feedback ( despite the lucas arts praise squad apparently brought in to improve the book)
this book seems like one i should have read not listened to, but it for sure clears up a lot of lore

Chronic disease is shortening our lifespan, destroying our quality of life, bankrupting governments, and threatening the health of future generations. Sadly, conventional medicine, with its focus on managing symptoms, has failed to address this challenge. The result is burned-out physicians, a sicker population, and a broken healthcare system. In Unconventional Medicine, Chris Kresser presents a plan to reverse this dangerous trend.

in my opinion the book starts at chapter 9. he knows a lot more than what is let on in this book. but I understand most people including doctors are very adverse to engineering like thinking.
I also recommend a 20% increase to the speed to get a natural sounding voice.

sociopath excuse book
Revisado: 11-09-20
a lot of very useful information in this book. That would take another book to explain what i think to be improvements and corrections. A taste of that would be other sport claims that humans are separated from animals due to the ability to deceive. overall definitely written by a likely sociopath who it's made very careful observations about human behavior. yet fixates on power to be the explanation as to why we are capable of assigning value and meaning to experiences in life.
so to those who read this and are dissuaded by the somewhat psychopathic perspective, I think the book is very useful in acknowledging the very real manipulations that we perform.
Power does go farther than discussed in this book, cuz I think that power is our ability to control ourselves and the environment around us. including if we want to make kindness the predominant force in existence.
