Suspicion grows as the story unfolds!
Revisado: 09-20-20
I love a good mystery, and this one was no disappointment! K.L. Slater keeps you guessing so long that I began to draw conclusions - wrong conclusions, before it unraveled. This is one of those stories where you find things to do so that you can keep listening! Well done!

In this compulsively listenable tale of secrets, lies, and deception, Gilly Macmillan explores the darkest impulses and desires of the human heart. Diabolically clever, The Nanny reminds us that sometimes the truth hurts so much you’d rather hear the lie.

Twists, turns and greed
Revisado: 08-09-20
This book kept popping up as a recommended read, based on my listening choices. Though I enjoyed the twists and turns it took, it was a long 11 hours. As it falls into the genre of mystery, it just wasn't a favorite of mine. It seem to be dramatic and dragging on...I just wanted to know 'who done it'. But there is a surprise...so perhaps you should give it a try.

Life's core values challenged...in love and war
Revisado: 08-09-20
A really nice story. Enjoyed the narration by Cassandra Campbell and the love story between two people wanting each other, but choosing life instead. The story was a reminder of how fortunate we are to be born in the USA. Love and war...we never want to choose war, but sometimes its difficult to choose love, based on circumstances. A really good read!

Historia
As a sixteen-year-old, Tessa Cartwright was found in a Texas field, barely alive amid a scattering of bones, with only fragments of memory as to how she got there. Ever since, the press has pursued her as the lone surviving “Black-Eyed Susan”, the nickname given to the murder victims because of the yellow carpet of wildflowers that flourished above their shared grave. Tessa’s testimony about those tragic hours put a man on death row.

Suspense....that drags on and on
Revisado: 08-09-20
I was intrigued when I read about this book...but basically disappointed in the long, drawn out 10 hours of narration. The narration wasn't a bonus either. So between those two elements, I simply didn't enjoy this book but couldn't wait to finish it so I could start something more compelling.

A surprisingly good ole love story!
Revisado: 05-25-20
So well written! I loved this story and I do not typically choose love stories. The depth of this was such that it kept my attention so strongly and I didn't want to put it down. Unexpected twists brought hope that love does matter and will find happiness after hard times. Sometimes secrets need to be kept for a number of reasons...take a listen and find out why!

Historia
Working as a dedicated forensic psychiatrist for many years, Emma is not shocked so easily. Then she is assigned to work with Connie, a wife and mother accused of a despicable crime. Connie is suffering from dissociative amnesia - or at least seems to be. Now it is up to Emma to decide whether Connie can stand trial for her sins. But there is something about Connie that inexorably pulls Emma into her orbit. Too Close is a masterfully written riveting listen about the powerful - yet dangerous - closeness between women.

Careful for what you agree to in a marriage
Revisado: 05-25-20
A friendship that brings deception and lies. I particularly enjoyed the narrators, Clara Salaman and Sara Stewart who tell an excellent story of a Mother, wife and friend that encounters obstacles that she cannot overcome. Curiosity is built into this story as I wondered if Emma would fall for her new friend - but instead - her new friend impacts her life to the extreme. Give it a listen to find out why or if Emma really has amnesia from the trauma her marriage experienced.

Loneliness can lead to illusions of friendships
Revisado: 05-25-20
Once again, Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen deliver a great novel. A handful of characters takes you into a lonely life that is desperate for friendship....at quite a cost! Creatively written with enough twists and turns that keep you listening...even when you don't have time! I really enjoyed this one because I could relate to all of the characters in real life. See what you think...!

Love makes one desperate...and quite clever!
Revisado: 05-25-20
The only disappointment with this book is its length of only 2 hours and 24 minutes. If you want a quick listen that is suspenseful, pick this one. Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen have never published something that I haven't enjoyed. The main character found misfortune and had to fight for her life...now you go find out how!

Ongoing intrigue and curiosity!
Revisado: 05-25-20
My first listen to a Robert Dugoni book...and I LOVED it! I couldn't - or didn't want to stop listening. The story line moved along and got deeper and deeper. I usually prefer to listen to female narrators, but Edoardo Ballerini does an amazing job! I will search for more from both of them. I won't go into the story as I don't want to share anything that would ruin it for listeners...but give this one a listen - you won't be disappointed.
