Historia
The desert planet Arrakis, called Dune, has been destroyed. Now, the Bene Gesserit, heirs to Dune's power, have colonized a green world—and are tuning it into a desert, mile by scorched mile. Chapterhouse Dune is the last book Frank Herbert wrote before his death: A stunning climax to the epic Dune legend that will live on forever.

Not as good as other Dune books
Revisado: 10-08-24
Heavy focus on sex and not sure that it really progressed the epic story line much. Also would have been nice if the various narrator's coordinated on name pronunciation a bit before production. it's not like it's the first time any of them have read for this series.

Historia
A good Gajur gave his life. Will that sacrifice help bring the galaxy back to balance? Or topple known space into a war to end all wars? Armagost wasn't the only light snuffed prematurely. The attack destroyed an irreplaceable piece of Valint's life, as well. Now, Mark must toe the delicate line between lawman and friend, partner and lover. With those in power divided, the work has only begun. The galaxy no longer needs a maker of peace, but a lobbyist and negotiator. In order to deconstruct the entombed and corrupt system, Mark and the gang must stack the deck in their favor.

More Peacekeeper goodness with a minor hitch
Revisado: 09-11-24
Another great installment in the series from JN Chaney. While the harsh language has started to ramp up in this series compared to his other Backyard Starship offerings, I was disappointed to get an F-bomb near the end of this one. not a huge deal but just disappointing to me as I have been recommending this to family friendly interested parties and I feel like this might hinder my future recommendations. otherwise it's full of more great story building with suspenseful twists, turns and emotion.

Putting the Grand Quest behind them, the party rides onward in search of answers. Between one member's unexpected new condition and the mysteries of the Bridge, their only hope appears to be gaining entrance to Lumal, said to hold the greatest collection of knowledge in all the kingdoms. But when a curious path appears in a seemingly uninhabited forest, the party finds themselves in a place set apart from the kingdoms, and the world at large: a hidden hamlet, filled by unusual people, all of whom have long histories of their own.

A continuation of a great epic story. This time with a bit more selective language use. Which is much appreciated. Looking forward to getting into the next book in the series.

Adventuring is a costly affair, and while the tolls are often paid in blood, gold can drain away just as quickly. The party's trek out of Solium and across the lands of Alcatham has left them with only a handful of gold between them. Fortunately, they have drawn near Camnarael, Alcatham's capital, where all manner of quests - and rewards - await. But all is not as expected in the capital.

Great story, uncreative language use
Revisado: 12-05-22
Another excellent installment in the series. But also even more unnecessary use of non-family friendly language keeping me from being able to recommend this book for younger readers and other families.

excellent sequel to NPCs
Revisado: 11-20-22
Solid and enthralling story continues in this installment of the series. I only wish the crass language was minimized instead of enhanced. hopefully the subsequent books are a touch milder in that regard. For me and my family it taints an otherwise great story I'd love to share with my kids but is just outside of "family friendly" due to the language used.

Yet another great story in the Backyard Starship series. I can't wait for the next one. The author(s) keep the story spicy and constantly on edge but in a great way that keeps me coming back for more.

Convoluted
Revisado: 04-16-22
A continuation of a great but convoluted story with too many characters that garner too much focus for some to follow. It doesn't help that so many of the names are very similar. I'm just trying to finish what I started at this point. Good narration as well, though sometimes the same narrator pronounces unique names differently from book to book or there is no coordination of pronunciation between different narrators, which can sometimes add to the confusion. One shouldn't feel like they have to take notes to enjoy an epic story.

Good but too long
Revisado: 02-28-22
Overall a great epic story that never disappoints at the end of each book. However, often over elaborate pontification and too many key characters distracts from the story keeping most enthralled.

Historia
On her last mission, HMS Invincible discovered an alien threat beyond human understanding. Defeat means the end of everything, the end of existence as nothing more than mindless host-bodies, the end of humanity and its alien allies alike. The stakes could not be higher. As a deeply divided humanity struggles to prepare a defense, with enemies inside and outside the human sphere just lurking to strike, Invincible is sent deep into alien space on what should have been a simple reconnaissance mission.

Good story but more of the same.
Revisado: 11-06-20
While the plot of the series progresses and keeps me interested, the constant rehashing of idioms and common phrases overwhelms and dilutes the experience. I'm hoping the next book is the conclusion of this saga and curious to discover if Nuttall's other offerings are as similar to this series. That being said, perspective changes and overall emotion are conveyed well and help to build situational impact as needed.
