Can’t believe I made it to the end
Revisado: 01-21-23
I’m sorry, I hate to leave bad reviews. Just skip to the last 30 minutes because nothing happens until then. Literally nothing but mundane stuff.

Historia
Eden was always good at being good. Starting high school didn’t change who she was. But the night her brother’s best friend rapes her, Eden’s world capsizes. What was once simple, is now complex. What Eden once loved—who she once loved—she now hates. What she thought she knew to be true, is now lies. Nothing makes sense anymore, and she knows she’s supposed to tell someone what happened but she can’t. So she buries it instead. And she buries the way she used to be.

Love it

Really love the reality of the consequences something like this can have on someone throughout the years.

Historia
It's been over a year since all the adults disappeared. Gone. In the time since every person over the age of 14 disappeared from the town of Perdido Beach, California, countless battles have been fought: battles against hunger and lies and plague, and epic battles of good against evil. And now, the gaiaphage has been reborn as Diana's malicious mutant daughter, Gaia. Gaia is endlessly hungry for destruction.

Nice tie in
Revisado: 10-26-22
Really like how the author reflected back on the significance on all the characters in the book. With it being a 6 part series it felt very nice to remember the growth of everyone and the story line progression.

Historia
Kira's earliest memories are of living alone and wild in the woods. She has no idea how long she was on her own or what she had to do to survive, but she remembers the moment that Cady Bennett and one of her search-and-rescue dogs found her. Adopted into the Bennett family, Kira still struggles with human interaction years later, but she excels at the family business: search-and-rescue. Then Cady's estranged father asks for her help in locating a missing child—one of several visitors who has disappeared in the Sierra Glades National Park in the past 12 months.

Could have been better
Revisado: 09-26-22
I felt like there wasn’t enough focus on the main character and her story. There was so much potential with that and I found myself wanting at several points to continue with the getting to know her past and then it would just stop. I felt like this happened with other things as well. There was so much attention to detail but then it didn’t leave time to write enough about the different back stories of the characters when it was set up as if there would be. I was just left feeling a little unsatisfied at the ending of the book.
