Historia
In July 1890, Vincent van Gogh went into a cornfield and shot himself. Or did he? Why would an artist at the height of his creative powers attempt to take his life... and then walk a mile to a doctor's house for help? Who was the crooked little "color man" Vincent had claimed was stalking him across France? And why had the painter recently become deathly afraid of a certain shade of blue? These are just a few of the questions confronting Vincent's friends who vow to discover the truth of van Gogh's untimely death.

worth the credit and the time
Revisado: 01-18-21
I appreciated the narrative device of a modern story that weaves the history of a little known and largely forgotten culture into the story line. I especially enjoyed listening to it as I was driving across the prairies of ND, made the miles fly by almost unnoticed!

Historia
Michael Pollan, known for his best-selling nonfiction audio, including The Omnivores Dilemma and How to Change Your Mind, conceived and wrote Caffeine: How Caffeine Created the Modern World as an Audible Original. In this controversial and exciting listen, Pollan explores caffeine’s power as the most-used drug in the world - and the only one we give to children (in soda pop) as a treat.

Fun, quick listen
Revisado: 02-20-20
Love the classic approachable Michael Pollan style. I've read several books on the "history of coffee" and this one is the best. Entertaining while getting to the point.

Historia
Returning to the territory he so brilliantly explored in his masterful New York Times best seller American Gods, the incomparable Neil Gaiman offers up a work of dazzling ingenuity, a kaleidoscopic journey deep into myth that is at once startling, terrifying, exhilarating, and fiercely funny, a true wonder of a novel that confirms Stephen King's glowing assessment of the author as "a treasure house of story, and we are lucky to have him."

Peter Sagal was right. This is now my all-time favorite audio book performance. Bonus - the story is highly entertaining too.
