Have you ever wondered "Why did I do that?" or "Why can't I just control my behavior?" Others may judge our reactions and think, "What's wrong with that person?" When questioning our emotions, it's easy to place the blame on ourselves; holding ourselves and those around us to an impossible standard. It's time we started asking a different question. Through deeply personal conversations, Oprah Winfrey and renowned brain and trauma expert Dr. Bruce Perry offer a groundbreaking and profound shift from asking “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?”

It's a great listen. the author's joined to create this fantastic audible that is so.... amazingly eye opening, provocative, and at times completely heart wrenching. I've learned so much from this. about my own issues. as well as how to recognize it in others. but it goes way deeper than that. society. family media , history. they all have a part in what happened to you .

Historia
Bryan Cranston landed his first role at seven, when his father, a struggling actor and director, cast him in a United Way commercial. Soon Bryan was haunting the local movie theater, memorizing and reenacting favorite scenes with his older brother. Acting was clearly the boy's destiny - until one day his father disappeared. Suddenly destiny took a backseat to survival. Seeking something more stable, perhaps subconsciously trying to distance himself from his absent father, Cranston decided on a career in law enforcement.

before this listen I've always referred to Bryan Cranston as Mr White. never again. Read by the man himself. He lets us in his life from a child to beyond Breaking Bad. I truly enjoyed it.

Historia
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

a great listen. I've played it now over 5 times.

it never gets old. Matthew is a dashing and slick narrator. it rolls off his tongue and you're picturing every moment right along with him. whether you like him or not his life story is off the charts by far one of the funnest, most eccentric life journeys I've ever read. a real page turner as well as smile enriching listen. I totally recommend Green Light

Historia
Using his legendary ability to get to the root of human potential, Napoleon Hill digs deep to reveal how fear, procrastination, anger, and jealousy prevent us from realizing our personal goals. This long-suppressed parable, once considered too controversial to publish, was written by Hill in 1938 following the publication of his classic bestseller, Think and Grow Rich. Annotated and edited for a contemporary audience by Rich Dad, Poor Dad and Three Feet from Gold coauthor Sharon Lechter, this book is profound, powerful, resonant, and rich with insight.

Historia
Whether we realize it or not, the human mind is highly malleable and can be programmed to do nearly anything. In the Milgram experiment of 1961, psychologist Stanley Milgram found astounding evidence for the moldable nature of the human mind. When influenced by a skilled authority figure, he found that his test subjects were willing to carry out shocking actions, many of which clashed with their personalities and most strikingly, their conscience.

shorter than I had expected. But a good start
Revisado: 06-11-18
I listened to the whole thing in one sitting. I am a 43 yo working class man who is trying to save my relationship. And I am a habitual liar. I do not want to be. But that is the hand i was dealt. After my first time through it, I found this book vaguely informative in understanding most types of lying. But with confidence I can say that if you're trying to quit this ugly habit it's a good place to start. And it also helps explain the other steps I need to take to help myself become the person I want to be.
