Historia
In The Surrender Experiment, Michael A. Singer tells the extraordinary story of what happened when, after a deep spiritual awakening, he decided to relinquish his personal fears and desires and simply let life unfold before him. Singer shares how this pivotal decision to embrace the flow of life led him to extraordinary success, sustained him through times of crisis, and allowed him to cultivate profound inner peace—whether as a young man pursuing a life of solitude in the woods, the founder of a thriving spiritual community in Florida, or the CEO of a billion-dollar medical software company.

Not what I expected, but okay.
Revisado: 09-19-22
Although it was good story about hardships, and changes in direction of life, it wasn’t what I had envisioned I suppose. I thought it was going to go into detail about the spiritual surrendering we must face as each obstacle enters our periphery…but it didn’t delve into that much. It was more of a general story line of what happened in Singer’s life up until 2015. In terms of business…mostly. Meh….

Real truth for the brave and people who know they need to take ACTION!
Revisado: 06-13-21
I love Gary’s honesty, his rawness, and no BS approach. No sugar-coating, no caudling, no telling you things just to make sure your precious little heart doesn’t break, no wiping your tears, no excuses, no “psychological” mumbo-jumbo, and definitely no “there, there…” connotations. Doesn’t mean you can’t cry or show emotion, just own it and move on with it.
So many self-development gurus (not that Gary holds himself as one), tell you airy-fairy ideas that lead nowhere, maybe you’d feel better for a moment or two, but it’s not anything tangible in the real world. Gary’s approach peels back the the rainbows and unicorns, and gets to the juicy stuff that needs to be addressed. It helps when he uses real-life examples, so you can understand what he’s talking about.
When I look beyond it all, it boils down to respect for one another and everything in between each of us. Gary’s take home message (in my eyes), seems to revolve around this idea of stopping blame, stopping hate, stopping unnecessarily fighting, resisting, stopping the need to be self-righteous, and pointing fingers essentially to other people or situations; but instead…. taking responsibility for your own feelings, judgments, criticisms, thoughts, actions, and how your LIFE has turned out. You can’t put that on anyone else (yes, not even your parents..)
I love that Gary points out over and over that we all have excuses/reasons for not doing something, (or doing something) but we need to own it, and admit that yes we’re using excuses so we can stay where we are, it’s comfortable. Let’s not beat around the bush.
I’ve been down the path of self-development for 10 years and this is probably the first time I’ve come across someone who just gives it to you straight (using philosophy and real life as an anchor); but it is tangible information; not just ideas.
I love all the other stuff too-such as inner spiritual work, but listening to Gary made me realize that I still separate myself from others who aren’t “like me”, and that is something I need to work on. Spiritual work and tangible self-growth work from Gary’s teachings is to me, the perfect combination.
I’m so freaking glad I came upon Gary’s work! If you’re someone who needs a good head-shaking (I know I do), then listen to his podcast, and get his books…it’s like getting hundreds of thousands worth of REALLY good one-on-one coaching! I usually don’t post reviews, but I can’t stop myself from writing this one! 😊

Practical Insights, Clearly Read By Narrator.
Revisado: 04-26-21
A fresh way of delivering on philosophical viewpoints, palatable, story-like, lots of insights, lots of lightbulb moments (if you listen closely).
I loved the conversational set-up, I felt like I was the student listening in and getting some golden nuggets in the process!
A great way for the younger generations to digest philosophy that is practical.
Makes you think....and re-think ideas you may have held in your mind before. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to expand their mind and maybe challenge their beliefs about life, and trauma, and the connections between them.

Women get mixed messages about how to succeed at work, and research shows that much of the career advice aimed at men doesn't even work for women. We’re left wondering: How do you say no without being labeled difficult? How do you get paid what you’re worth? Should you go for that next big promotion, even though it’ll impact your family? Known for being 2018’s most-booked female speaker in the world and now a nationally-syndicated talk show host, Mel Robbins answers these questions and more with research-based strategies that you can put into action immediately.

Totally worth it!!!!!
Revisado: 04-12-21
I love Mel, she’s a real genuine person, not afraid to say what she feels and thinks. The book covers various facets of work situations that intertwine with personal life situations, mainly geared toward women in the workforce but men can also take advantage of the advice here.
I love Mel’s humor, her candor, her playfulness at times throughout the book. She keeps it real and practical. It’s like I had a conversation with a really good girlfriend, and got tons of good advice without leaving my house! I love love love as a person whom I’ve never met but I feel it in my heart, she’s just the real deal and gives honest feedback, she makes you feel comfortable with taking risks and taking chances in life. I would to totally recommend to anyone, especially women! We still have a long way to go in terms of feeling at par with men in the workforce. Cheers!

Historia
If you’re having trouble solving a problem or reaching a dream, the problem isn’t you. It’s that you haven’t yet installed the one belief that changes everything. Marie’s mom once told her, “Nothing in life is that complicated. You can do whatever you set your mind to if you roll up your sleeves. Everything is figureoutable.” Whether you want to leave a dead end job, break an addiction, learn to dance, heal a relationship, or grow a business, Everything is Figureoutable will show you how.

One of the best self-development books out there!
Revisado: 12-27-19
Great content, similar to what we have all already heard out there but Marie’s spin on things was a fresh look at life. I love her voice as well and I’m so glad she decided to narrate the book! It wouldn’t have been the same if it were narrated by someone else. I think everyone needs to listen to this one. She points out many different scenarios in which people have gone through crazy hardships and made it out with a will to get through it and move on. Great read! I will be re-listening again soon.

Worth the time to listen on a daily basis!
Revisado: 06-13-17
This book compiles all relevant informatiom about using affirmations. If used often, it will help re-program negative thinking patterns you may have. Good starter book for people who don't know where to begin with using affirmations. Personally, I have read many books about affirmations and still find this one pretty concise and gets to the point without overkill.
I enjoyed listening to it during driving. The narrator was pleasant and easy to listen to.
