It was a beautiful children's story. the third chapter was the most powerful. The description captures that feeling that of emotions perfectly..

I've listened to a number of books about Women & Autism in the past 2 years. Each offered a plethora of "ah-ha" moments for me, in recognition of my own life as an undiagnosed autist. This is the best by far for combining research, statistics and anecdotes from people who identify as being on the spectrum.

I was so very happy to hear that people who are not Autistic can pick up on our differences in a millisecond and become guarded or even hostile in the blink of an eye. This has been my experience all too often and I never understood why. That all our painstaking efforts to mask only make people more suspicious is the best arguement imaginable for living a more authentic, unapologetic existence.

At 60 years old, there is little in the way of "do-overs" that I can look forward to. Freeing myself to live a more honest life, and not walking on eggshells every time I leave my house might pay dividends far beyond simply being "accepted" by random strangers. Thank you Dr. Price.

This is not a tidy little good v. evil story. The bad guy is a narcissistic and grandious jerk. The police are corrupt in their search for justice. The victim has complicated and messy relationships. Witnesses lie with conviction- then recant 20 years later. NOTHING is resolved. Just like IRL, It is up to the reader to draw their own conclusions. Loved it!

Jacqueline Carey's "Kushiel" series (in print) is one of my all-time favorites. I love her world building and character development and in the "Kushiel" series, she introduced a hero and heroine like no other. I just never got into this book. Ever. I thought the narration was rather flat- and 2 weeks after finishing the book, I cannot even tell you what it was about. Not the most helpful review, I guess, but there it is.

This book gave me a guide to navigating the world with some grace and humor in the current political climate. Admittedly, I find it somewhat disturbing that Franken can find anything to like about Mitch McConnell- but if he can find humanity in Yertle the Turtle, then I can find humanity in those who insist, lamely, that we just need to "wait and see" what comes next, as our democracy tumbles toward....whatever comes next. Thanks Senator Franken.

I've been following Leah's TV series on Scientology- and her book is remarkably funny and brutally honest. I'm developing real respect and admiration for this loud, brash, funny woman. Wish I had a tenth of her chutzpah.. Seriously!

I'm a fan of Tanith Lee's works. However, this narrator does not so much bring the story to life as she puts the listener to sleep. Each sentence has the same rhythm over and over and over and over and over and over and over......You get the point.

I gave the story three stars- based on Lee's other works, but I have no idea whether it was good or bad.

Good read. I had trouble putting it down. Excellent female narrator. She did a great job on the male voices as well.

...Aaaaaand- I learned something about oxytocin, and its effects on "group think"- that informed several of my conversations in the days that followed. I'll look for more from Joe Hill.

I listen to audiobooks to help occupy my left brain while the right brain designs graphics all day. I have listened to hundreds of books over the years, and some I can hardly remember the next day. Every once in a while, I get pulled into a story that keeps me rooted to the spot. THIS ONE had me hooked to my chair for two days of binge listening/working.

Got a lot done- and thoroughly enjoyed the twists and the very satisfying turns. I'll look for more from this author. Narration was solid as well.

I really didn't know what to expect from this book, but I would like a shot at being eternally awesome. So I bought in.

I am the opposite of a mindful, let's say "strategic", eater. I love good food, and crap food, as long as it tastes good and fills the void. This book gave me good reasons to change my ways and I need reasons to make changes of that magnitude. So when I finished reading, I had a better understanding of both nutrition, the politics of food production- and how my food behaviors effect me long term. I'd say that the author has consumed and digested decades of food and nutritional information, and shared the most salient info, sans the strident attitude.

Great motivation to find the organic farmer's market and eat mostly fruit and veg for the last week. Feel better, dropped a few pounds already, and have the all important understanding of WHY I must stay the course, when the craving for a double cheeseburger and grilled onions drunk-dials me at 1am.

Thanks for a very useful book!
