You can almost here the writer's block
Revisado: 01-31-25
The beginning of the story had me intrigued, the character building was great....then the sci-fi aspect got too heavy and then Jason Bourne dropped in to try and spice up the story. The action hero part of the story is a loser for me, the sci-fi fantasy is hard to accept, the "Breakthrough" portion is VERY thought provoking and entertaining. I don't know if I would pay cash or use a credit, but I will continue the series in the plus catalog to keep tabs on the gang.

Maintained my interest, but something is missing.
Revisado: 01-31-25
The characters are rememberable, the topics are futuristic, the listen was entertaining. This is not the problem, the issue I have is some elements that allow story lines to be wrapped up in a Hollywood way and not really belie vable, which to me, negates the believability of the sci-fi parts of the story. Would I spend a credit on it, I don't believe I would, but being part of my audible plus catalog, I will be listening to the entire series.

Historia
Since his wife died, Ralph Roberts has been having trouble sleeping. Each night he wakes up a bit earlier until he's barely sleeping at all. During his late-night walks, he observes some strange things going on in Derry, Maine. He sees colored ribbons streaming from people's heads, two strange little men wandering around town after dark, and more. He begins to suspect that these visions are something more than hallucinations brought on by lack of sleep.

The sound effects spoil moments
Revisado: 05-16-23
Whoever did the sound effects made them much too intrusive. When present they overwelm the story.

A fast gripping start, mild middle and slow end.
Revisado: 08-06-20
The beginning grabbed me so quickly, I was so excited. The story moved and maintained my interest until it started building to the finish. Then the unique parts of the story faded away and it became a bore. This may have been more to do with the narrator not reading with more urgency during the heart racing scenes than the story itself. A couple of characters were introduced in the beginning and not really fleshed out, although they would have been more interesting than standard vampires.

I started this book wanting to find another piece to the puzzle. I believe I found it. The first few chapters are old hat for anyone who has been around the self-help stacks. Then there was the Tony Robbins section about the Law of Attraction. So far, nothing really new...Lucid Dreaming was the diamond in the rough. However, it is glossed over and has led me to search out books on lucid dreaming. He also alludes to seeing Aural Spectrum's, but then says, we won't delve into the topic here.
This is a beginners book with core knowledge for each topic; but if you have a basic understanding, I would recommend finding materials elsewhere to learn about the specific topics.
However, if you are looking for The Power of Positive Thinking: 101 - this is one of the better books I have come across, since it does go a bit further in exposure to some of the lesser known topics and the material is dense enough that I will be listening to specific topics again, most likely another 2 times.
