The story is told by Cyril’s son Danny, as he and his older sister, the brilliantly acerbic and self-assured Maeve, are exiled from the house where they grew up by their stepmother.

Wonderful!

The characters were so richly described. You knew them. You knew their feelings, their motivations. Just an extraordinary story of complex people. Everyone has an extraordinary story, we just don’t hear or see them as they truly are. Great book! Narration was perfection!

This follow up to The Life We Bury is well written with a compelling plot covering everything from autism, responsibility, addiction, redemption, real love, respect earned, trust earned..... I could go on. I'm so very glad I chose to read/listen to this novel. The narrator does a good job.

Fun!

It's just a really well written, extremely fun trilogy. My daughter gave me the books and when I first began, I thought she really doesn't know what I like to read. Within a few pages I was enjoying myself immensely. Yes, I read all three first and a year later I have listened to them and had a really wonderful time once again.
