Historia
Some lines should never be crossed. Police corruption, an investigation that ends in tragedy and the mystery of a little girl’s silence – three unconnected events that will prove to be linked by one small town. While detective Cormac Reilly faces enemies at work and trouble in his personal life, garda Peter Fisher is relocated out of Galway with the threat of prosecution hanging over his head. But even that is not as terrible as having to work for his overbearing father, the local copper for the pretty seaside town of Roundstone.

Weak Storyline
Revisado: 05-28-23
Listening to lovely Irish accents made getting through the story bearable. If you are going to include medicine and childhood trauma, please do the research and make a credible story. The plot “twists” were more similar to Law and Order.

Historia
An urgent and fractious national debate over public monuments has erupted in America. Some people risk imprisonment to tear down long-ignored hunks of marble; others form armed patrols to defend them. Why do we care so much about statues? And who gets to decide which ones should stay up and which should come down? Erin L. Thompson, the country’s leading expert in the tangled aesthetic, legal, political, and social issues involved in such battles, brings much-needed clarity in Smashing Statues.

An explanation of the statues for what they represent and what they meant at the time of their placement. I find those seeking honor for their losses to causes of oppression do not realize the horror of those causes remain.

Historia
Factfulness: The stress-reducing habit of carrying only opinions for which you have strong supporting facts. When asked simple questions about global trends - what percentage of the world's population live in poverty; why the world's population is increasing; how many girls finish school - we systematically get the answers wrong. In Factfulness, professor of international health and global TED phenomenon Hans Rosling, together with his two longtime collaborators, Anna and Ola, offers a radical new explanation of why this happens.

Required Reading
Revisado: 05-09-22
This book should be required reading for anyone in healthcare analytics, public health, and healthcare policy. It demonstrates the impact of our preconceived notions, how they are wrong, and resulting impact.
This book’s honesty and embellished narrative is a joy to hear. It is a great tribute to an incredible team.
