Reading the Gospels without knowing the personality of Jesus is like watching television with the sound turned off. The result is a dry, two dimensional person doing strange, undecipherable things.

Renewal of an Audacious Love for Christ
Revisado: 10-31-18
John writes in such a way that your hope and longing for the reunion with Jesus will surely rise up within you to the point of singing God’s praise.
With a willingness to allow Christ to reveal himself in any way he wants, this book will be a lens in which to see Christ in a way we may not have seen before.
Has stirred my affections for Jesus and that’s something to praise God for.

Historia
Reflecting on 40 years of matrimony, John Piper exalts the biblical meaning of marriage over its emotion, exhorting couples to keep their covenant for all the best reasons. Even in the days when people commonly stayed married "'til death do us part," there has never been a generation whose view of marriage was high enough, says Pastor John Piper. That is all the more true in our casual times.

The year is 993 BC. After years of bloody civil war, Eleazar son of Dodai, one of King David’s most elite warriors, wants nothing more than to finally live peacefully in the land. But on the plains near the Great Sea, a terrifying army of Philistines has mobilized to crush the Hebrew tribes once and for all. In the sun-drenched valleys and dark forests of the hill country, Eleazar and his warriors make their stand against Israel’s deadliest enemy.

A Refreshing Insight
Revisado: 02-07-18
Understanding that not all readers will agree on the theology and maybe even the timeline of events, this book all the same is refreshing and insightful on what these events would have looked like. Easy to digest (coming from one who enjoys history but lacks in depth of knowledge) all the way through.
There is graphic content that is not appreciated by some listeners, but in light of bringing understanding and awareness to what battle looks like, it is wholly appropriate.
Personally enjoyed this book; as the entire Day of War series.
