This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

Not sure why the reviews are so polar opposite.

Sooooo, good!
Revisado: 08-29-21
You can’t compare this book to anything else out there. This is a unique creation with a compelling main character in tragic circumstances and overcoming them with experience and intellect. The writing is profoundly intelligent and descriptive. Overall, the best series written in the last 15 years. Enjoy!

Historia
Before he was nicknamed “Sting” by the leader of a local show band in northeast England, Gordon Sumner knew he was meant for more than his working-class background promised. He just didn’t know how to get there. In Upon Reflection, hear the singular talent trace his unlikely rise from his days as a young husband and father working as a local schoolteacher, to risking everything on a fateful move to London, and joining an aspiring punk band called The Police.

What a great way to discover and rediscover Sting. Beyond the hype, here is the man himself. There’s so much more than just The Police. Very touching reminiscences, humble self appraisals, and amazement at how far his talent has taken him. This is time well spent.

Historia
We know the legends: Arthur brought justice to a land that had known only cruelty and force; his father, Uther, carved a kingdom out of the chaos of the fallen Roman Empire; the sword Excalibur, drawn from stone by England's greatest king. But legends do not tell the whole tale. Legends do not tell of the despairing Roman soldiers, abandoned by their empire, faced with the choice of fleeing back to Rome, or struggling to create a last stronghold against the barbarian onslaughts from the north and east.

Great series and narration.

I love Arthurian sagas and Jack Whyte’s is one of the best. I’m on my second trip through and enjoying the Audible version very much. A wonderful companion while working, commuting, relaxing, etc.
I’m a DIYer and love the aspects of creating order from chaos that this series describes many times. I’d say it’s a little more “adult” than some of the other Arthur series out there, but the historical fiction thrown alongside the fictional drama more than compensate.
Enjoy!
